    What if:

You get used to "hold both buttons on mouse to move"

And with a razor you assign 1-10 skills + interact + dodge?

    Can you adapt to that?

I think I know what you are saying. And I use my mouse to move the exact same way i did in wow. I do not use WASD hardly ever. I use the right/left click to move around just like in wow (not click the ground and move there, but hold the buttons to move forward or hit auto run). I use side buttons for forward/back/strafe left/strafe right, and my left hand uses tab targeting, numbers for abilities, and shift+those abilities... and so on. I think you will be fine to play this after setting up your mouse in the configuration.

    Hope this isn't confusing

P.S. I double click my side buttons for forward/back/strafe-left/strafe-right for dodging...

have you ever considered getting a mouse with a load of extra buttons like a razer naga? I can play a game like skyrim with one hand easily.
I don't think this matters nearly as much as you think it does.

If that is the case OP, GW2 has the ability to keybind how you like, just like WoW. So pretty much everything movement-wise you do in WoW, you can do in GW2. Just rebind WASD to whatever mouse buttons you want. It also has the standard press both mouse buttons to move feature.

    Hope that answered your query.
So, I can go in and assign strafe to say my X button (or to a bizzare keystroke like Cntrl-Alt-F1 like I do in WoW) and the same for all the other movement ?

I don't use or like click to move (as in click on terrain like D3) - this is only about removing any movement away from the left hand.

In Skyrim - your mouse movements were tied to your camera... so I couldn't do anything to fix that issue.

I have one with sufficient buttons, but Skyrim wouldn't let me do that because it tied the camera to the mouse.

I think there is enough of a chance I could use it from what you are saying for me to have a go.

Yes you can modify your keybinds, including the movement keys. I do it myself and I think most people do in some form.

Yes you can do just that (I personally never tried a double modifier keybind, but I'll assume you can do it in GW2) It is a free camera third person game, so it doesn't use Skyrims aiming mechanics, it's still sort of a tab target MMO.

read his posts man! oh what the hell i'm giving you the benefit of literacy but it seems you do not have it here i'll write facts for you

FACT: he has a disability, CANNOT use his left hand for any movement

it's one thing to support a game but people should simply be honest, he came here to ask a simple question, answer it as truthfully as possible

no need to plug GW2, if he cannot play it, then say so

However (as people have already pointed out), the combat in GW2 is very action-based. You have to move quickly and be able to dodge etc. I do not know if it is possible to dodge with the mouse (maybe someone can clarify this?). I take you can use your let hand for active abilities but not for movement (some sort of functional disassociation problem)?
I don't care if I play GW2 well - that is a separate issue, I just intend to enjoy it - explore it. I might not like it, but liking vs not liking is another issue

I can do enough movement in WoW to stay out of the fire and avoid things coming my way (right/left strafe).

Having actions on my left hand (spells etc) and movement on my right is how I do WoW.

Thanks EVERYONE for your feedback, I'm going to give it a go (18 hours left for early release)... at least I know there is a good chance of play, so I will give it a burl.

In game you can key bind wasd to mouse buttons, im using the naga hex so I have 1-6 buttons i can keybind to but for you I'd put, 2(move forward) 1(strafe left) 3(strafe right) and 5 (back step), you can double click any of these to use the dodge ability (which lets you dodge in coming attacks and take no damage). the only problem for you which is kind of a big problem would be having to click the ability buttons at the same time as running because you need to use left and right click to control the character and camera, the camera does have a smart pivot though which it will face what ever direction your character is but just makes for slower game play. So with your condition it wouldn't be impossible to play as long as you had the right setup, it just wont be very optimal.

ah just noticed you said you can use your left hand for abilities, so it shouldn't be too hard to play using 1-0 f1-f4 abilities with your left and you can bind all types of movement to the mouse. If you can play wow you can play this.

It's cute. You go on about literacy, yet you have yet to properly read his posts. He can not click to move, but as he said he does NOT click to move. He is able to do what he is asking to do.

Yes he can, he doesn't click to move- he simply rebinds his movement keys to his mouse. You can do the same thing in GW2. All movement keys are fully rebindable (not a word- I just made it up) to your mouse. The camera feels different, but functionally is the same as WoW. You will have to move more in GW2 though as positioning is way more important.

Well anyway, if you would buy it from arenanet (https://buy.guildwars2.com/en/) you would probably get a refund (within 30 days) if you are unable to play the game. You could always ask them (twitter/facebook/http://en.support.guildwars2.com/) if that would be possible, or wait for a free trial.

I hope it works, and welcome to the gw2 community (we have cookies but I'ld advise you not to eat them, especially Mif's)

I can click to move, I just don't like it as much (e.g. D3)

To clarify (in case I've confused people) the ONLY thing I have said I can't do is use my left hand to do movement. That is a showstopper.

Sorry, what I said might have come across wrong. What I meant was that in GW2, you would be unable to click to move.

If you have a mouse like the Razor Naga you can bind the movement keys to the mouse. I did that with strafe for a while so it should be perfectly playable that way.

You need less than 20 keybinds for the game (not including opening your character sheets etc which aren't needed for fighting).

Btw, would you later tell us the results?

Maybe we could them create a post in the official forums as suggestion that would improve your gameplay
