Looking for some help with graphic cards (AMD radeon or ATI radeon)

Hello, Id like to know which graphic cards would be the best choice for my rig. Ill start by listing the major pieces i have atm in my rig.

-AMD ATHLON II 265 Dual core (CPU)
    -ASU CM M4A87TD EVO (motherboard)
    -GX 650 Watt cooler

My question is what graphics card should i choose that would be compatable with my rig? I am looking for a decent graphics card. Mine is just horrible and outdated. Id prefer any amd radeon card (not in the 7xxx series). Anyone know?

You don't actually mention what graphics card you already have. However, notice that your CPU is very poor for the job in the first place; a new graphics card is imo gonna be held down by the CPU...

There's hardly any benchmarks on something like the HD 5450 admittedly that I could find with ease. Anyway, I mostly agree with haxartus. Something in the region of the HD 7770.

your card might not even be what is holding you back though, that cpu has to struggle pretty hard in games.. look at the radeon 7770 or 6850 for a decent budget card.

If he replaces the CPU (and thus the motherboard) the graphics card will hold him back.
If he replaces the graphics card the CPU will hold him back.

    ~$100-120 HD 7770
    ~$110-140 HD 6850
    ~$130-160 HD 6870

Yeah but he still won't be able to play anything with i3 and 5450.
Get a 7770 first and then upgrade the CPU later.
