670 or 680 perhaps? Even the 660ti would be a nice upgrade for $300
I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit processor AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor 3.2ghz i have 12g ram ddr3

I guess it would be the same between a 660 ti and a 670? I mean the performance difference
What games are you playing? Getting a 3570k would be a better upgrade imo.
i7 930 @ 4.0Ghz | Sapphire HD5970 w/ Accelero Xtreme | ASUS P6X58D Premium | 32GB Kingston DDR3-1600
Xonar Essence STX | 128GB Vertex 4 | AX750 | Xigmatek Elysium
Laing D5 | XSPC RX 360mm | Koolance RP-452X2 | EK-Supreme HF
Dell 3007WFP-HC | Samsung BX2350 | Das Keyboard Model S Ultimate | Razer Naga Molten | Sennheiser HD650
I play diablo 3/wow/darksiders2/bf3/witcher2/sc2/swtor and just bought GW2
ehm might sound different but how about save for new mobo/cpu/gpu combo? gpu might provide some gain but is there any reason your using an amd cpu? (im familiar with staying away from them for gaming purposes)
I dont know i just looked at a list of processor and decided to take this one but i know intel is a bit better...well most ppl say that anyway
Ever thought that there was no such thing as SB When the Phenom cpu's were released?
It was a decision between a 955 and an i5 750/760. And the difference wasnt big enough to make the 760 a MUST option.
well it kinda depends on what you want to do, upgrade piece by piece or a perhaps bigger upgrade later along.
fyi never said intel is a must for gaming, im just familiar with amd not being optimal for it

A couple of the games the OP listed relay heavily on the GPU (BF3 and the witcher 2 mostly). Id say, get a new gpu (7950/7970/670) now, and save up for a mobo/cpu upgrade
If you dont want to go for a mobo/cpu upgrade i would chose either a 670 or 7970. If you do plan to upgrade the cpu/mobo in time, id pick the 7950. (And your RAM should be DDR3, so you prob dont have to upgrade that )

perhaps im slightly biased with bad exp with my former ATI cards from the past.
OP what kind of screen you playing on? 60hz/1920x1080?

well question that is open for what gpu would suit you most atm is do you want to play games maxed out on graphics now or future proofing more?
well when i build it i was thinking about taking cheaper piece and upgrading over the time which i did so i guess i should also look for a new processor too
well depending on what performance you want/need you should start doing some comparing on cards etc and perhaps keep an eye out for any cpu/mobo discount bundles. (if with good brand mobo ofc)
ps: gtx 670 is personal jack of all trades atm with performance for its price.
pps: got a SSD? if not that would be 2nd best upgrade after GPU instead of cpu/mobo
