    Dungeons: bugs and issues

Ok i tried my first dungeon at ascalon catacombs, nice and hardish but theres some things that really bother me:

    1. theres no LFG you have to shout around areas for pugs unless you happen to have 30 guildies ready to go and perhaps teleport around wasting money.

    2. When one guy leaves in the middle or disconnects we had go out to get another party member and guess what, the whole dungeon completely resets, that really sucks.

so not only do you have to pug around some field throwing messages but hope that no one disconnects or leaves. Thats stupid.

The dungeon reset definitely needs to be fixed. I don't think the group finder will be *quite* as big of a deal without set roles, but I am always pro-dungeon finder no matter what game.

    In before "blah blah community..."

Wow.. what would you want the crap LFG for? it's actually fun to make your own dungeon... I rather do one in a day than 10 per day... that one will surely be worth it.

Reminds me of Aion first ops dungeon times.. it was freaking AWESOME....

Am I the only one who missed Vanilla/TBC/Early WOTLK and not having a dungeon finder? Grouping up and meeting new people builds a server community.

The point 1 is not too worrying, wasting money? it costs 2 silver max, plus there's a lot of people asking for the first dungeons on map chat, doesn't seem to "required".

Towards the point 2, it get's me a bit worried on that.

I haven't had a problem with 1 - it only takes a handful of people and, generally speaking, there's plenty looking for it right now. 2, though, is definitely a problem and one I hope they work on sooner than later.

1 player in the party should probably stay in the dungeon when the others leave to find another player.

I would like to see a version of the old LFG system in wow. Just click up which dungeon you want to do and then browse the other people looking for a group.

    may I ask you.
1.Did you ever play the first Guild wars?
    2. if you did, you should not be reading further, because it's the same thing here.
    3. If you did not, well simple really. In Guild wars 1 you could spend hours shouting in Lion's Arch for a group to go and do like.. hm a EoTn Area, and that was with changing location to find people I might add ;P. and you needed to find 7 more people. (you could do it with heroes but it was way harder)

nope, I'm definitely with you on that.

    The only one? No.
Do I miss it? Hell no. I stopped rolling pure dps classes because 'LF2M Tank and Heals' started to make me loathe the game. LFG is, for me at least, one of the best additions to the game.

Well there was a dungeon finder in TBC, it just didn't teleport you, but i agree, i wasn't a fan of it in WOTLK or Cata. I think i made all my non-RL mates through either grouping up for a dungeon with them or doing elite quests in WoW. Get ready to be disappointed though, the amount of whinging that happened in SWTOR forced them to introduce it (not that i played it, just what i heard).

Your first point seems to suggest you want a game like wow. Gw2 is not that type of game and unlikely will ever have the lfg feature. It might be a harsh reality but you are either going to learn to deal with it or leave because arenanet already made their money. This is one of the truths about the b2p system. You purchase the game and that's the end of it. Now this doesn't mean a future expansion won't have the feature you want but if I were you I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Point 2 is something that should be fixed and undoubtably it will. Patience, remember launch officially only just happened.

Well there IS a LFG tool in the game. It's just text and zone based - you type in what you're looking for or browse for other people who are listed.

Did you ever play the second guild wars?
If you did you should not be reading further, because you'd know that the two games are vastly different in almost all capacities and that your point is completely irrelevant.
If you did not then you also have no idea what you are talking about.

    No, seriously.
What does that have to do with anything?
You expect them to have left in an utterly terrible system "because that's how they used to do it"?
Have you even played GW2? Do you know how different it is from the first game? They've changed almost everything.

There is a non automated LFG tool in the game. Just open the social panel. LFG tab is like the 3rd one down.

I am one of those that prefer not to have a automated dungeon finder in the game for the sake of RPG part of MMORPG. I believe automated systems, while having some advantages, have more of a negative impact on the game, simply by diminishing the RPG part.

On the other hand, the dungeon resetting needs to be fixed of course.

People simply straight out expect them these days, say all you want about community and what not but that hardly matters to much when you can visit other servers when ever. Guilds are your community, if you have a good one then you dont need tools like these if not well then there certainly is value in them. I have in the past been very much against them but now I could care less and fully expect to see one and if not there should be. There are so many other convenience / quality of life features already in game why not implement one and just be done with it. You already can teleport from one end of the map to the other so immersion breaking is kinda already out the window on that one and it could be explained away as simply as a Asura style gating system.

An actually reasonable complaint. I am impressed MMOC.
