    PvE dungeons are ridiculous.

    I love this game BUT...

    Classes can't hold threat.
    Mobs 1 hit.
    Heals are underpowered.
    LoS pulling is gone.
    Loot is crappy for a "We don't want you to grind" attitude.


    Just a few things I noticed while doing a dungeon. OH, did I mention it took almost 3 hours...?

    EDIT 1 for the "Elitists":

    To all the people saying that there is "No Holy Trinity" or there is "no Tank or heals classes"...

    What would you call a Control build?
    What would you call a Support build?
    What would you call a Damage build?

    The fact is I spec Control and I cannot get a mob to look at me for two seconds, I spec support and my heals do 50 each. Damage is okay and EVEN when I spec to do a bit of all THREE I still get one hit by mobs. This was also done mostly in a PUG run. Im sure that if was my guildies it would be a different story. Also, I am not saying I didn't enjoy my experience with the dungeon because it was great.

    I hate this also. I think mob damage should be adjusted, and maybe it will too. That way heals don't have to be touched.

    Dungeons do get a bit easier later on I found (did Cadeceus Manor, Ascalonian Catacombs and Twilight Arbor). The trash tend to be harder than the bosses Part of the difficulty is due to mobs not telegraph their attacks clearly and part due to lack of holy trinity system and general player inexperience.

    Classes aren't meant to hold threat, everyone is supposed to be avoiding attacks not just one person.
    Avoidable damage. And you're not meant to stay up 100% of the time, if you were there would not be a downed state.
    Because support are meant to be doing more than just sitting there healing. You can throw heals to maybe let someone live through one more attack possibly, but sitting there healing isn't meant to actually be viable. Should be a DPS who throws heals, not a healer who throws DPS.
    LoS pulling works perfectly fine, just everyone has to LoS besides just one person.
    If (assuming level 80) loot was crap then, it really wouldn't matter too much. There are MUCH easier ways to get max gear. It's not that they want no grind, it's that they want no mandatory grind. Legendary weapons are meant to take a long time to make, but they are no better than the pieces of gear you can get easily from a bit of karma grinding, or crafting.

    TA is definitely not easier than CM.. =P
    Last boss is a pain in a pug. Had to explain the strategy a couple times before the last of them finally went "OH, he so when we kill one she spawns and we hit her?" even though it was the first thing I said.

    Who do you want to hold threat? There are no tanks, no classes have threat mechanics.
    Who do you want to heal? There are no dedicated healers, each class can heal themselves a little and some classes have some weak AOE heals.

    It's all about avoiding damage. You see that boss pulling back to swing his hammer? MOVE!

    A good way to warm up for dungeons until your group gets better at avoiding damage is to do mini-dungeons. Try the Provernic Crypt in Gendarran Fields.

    Great guide. Should help a few friends but even after doing all of this it was still whack.

    Trying to play GW2 like you played WoW is like trying to play Chess using a Checkers strategy.
    It's a different game altogether.

    There is no trinity. You can try to make one, spec as hard as you can to try to make a tank to stand in front of you taking damage and spec as hard as you can to try to make a healer standing behind you healing you, but you will not have a good time.

    It's a different game.

    This is standard fare for an NC Soft game. The idea is to solo grind your way to max level, then solo grind a full set of gear, before doing group content
    Rest In Peace, World of Warcraft. Subscriber count doesn't matter, WoW has been dead in spirit for a while

    I've notice that you used stupid/decisions in the same sentence. So I have to ask did you not pay any attention when AN clearly stat there is no holy trinity in gw2.

    I love the dungeon design personally

    Ran Sorrow's Furnace for the first time today. Man, was that longggg, but I loved it. 2nd to last boss was a nightmare, hardest thing I've done thus far in the game, and the last boss was just plain epic. I hope they don't do too much tweaking.

    P.S. If you want to make certain bosses easier, you WILL have to change up your utility slots.

    Mobs 1 hit. Those attacks that 1 shot can be avoided if you learn the mobs "tell," I.E. watching them raise a weapon above their head, cast a spell, etc

    I can't speak to the LoS pulling, but I'd imagine that falls into the "avoiding damage" category.

    All but the last are by design, their aim was to break the holy trinity of tank, dps and healer. So you all end up doing a bit of everything, keep yourself healed up dodging attacks and giving out buffs to help the group.

    I found it quite enjoyable, even though it's a bit rough round the edges and a shock to the system.
