Well I've never been there nor have I met someone from NZ but my mother have always said(she has been there) that it's one of the countries that has the most similarities with Sweden as far as the nature goes, the mountainous regions look a lot like parts of northen Sweden. Other parts could be in southern Sweden, different wildlife though. Apart from that I think of the LOTR, ancient Lizard and bird spiecies, sheep(of course lol), the capital is Wellington, but I think Auckland is the biggest city. Supposed to be extremly friendly and welcoming people(again my mothers oppinion), I don't know a lot, could see myself go there on vacation at some point though.

Nah we called it Nova Zeelandia (Nieuw Zeeland). Then the British took over and couldn't work out the double vowels, so they anglicised it.
Interesting fact is that Australia used to be Nova Hollandia (Nieuw Holland).

Now what do I think/know about New Zealand...

- The Dutch first 'discovered' it for Europe, and it was later colonized by the British.
- Lord of the Rings was filmed there.
- We beat their female hockey team during the last Olympics in the finals.
- They like to call themselves Kiwi's
- If I were to judge by the TV show Border Control, anyone from NZ trying to get into Australia is a criminal.

And... that's about it. Wish I knew more to be honest.

Their rugby team is pretty much the only reason why I watch rugby from time to time. The haka makes me feel like a beast everytime.
