[Dark Souls] Infinite loading and rendering issues

Hello there folks!
I just bought Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition of steam and just 30 mins into the game i'm having some major issues with it. The first issue is infinite loading times which has pretty much disabled my characters, if i make a new i can play for like 20 mins and then the same thing happens, making me unable to ever log onto them again. The second is rendering issues. When i get to the Undead Burg there are large portions which just doesn't exist and i have to navigate through thin air.
Currently i'm considering removing it from my computer and reinstalling it, not sure if that would help though...
Not sure what i'm hoping for, but i'm praying that one of you might have an answer.

This is the resolution 'patch' I don't know if it does or does not help as maybe being able to change the resolution would be helpful with the rendering issue, ehhh maybe not, but at least can give it a try. Sadly I only have played the PS3 version and not PC =\

I was actually using that, and removing it didnt fix it either. Decided to remove and re-install. Thanks anyway
