Fraps help, computer specs, need a new HDD or something else?

Title says it all, i play WoW on a few ultra settings to raid, solo etc etc
I also like to fraps my soloing but recently its started to get dodgy with the whole fps.

I play wow at a constant 60 fps, when i fraps it sometimes goes down / spikes, for example in sindy/LK some parts of the map/area causes fraps to suddenly go from 60 fps to 20 and it'll go backup within a second or two.

    Comp Specs:
    I3-2100 3.1Ghz
    Ati 6770 hd
    8GB Ram 1333mhz
    Xfx 650watt Psu

ATM i use fraps settings off

    Record, full size image
    record at 30 fps

I also record to the same hard drive wow etc is installed on, i was wondering would a new hard drive just for fraps really fix this issue of stuttering fps.

If so, can anyone advise any decent hard drives? a cheap nice HDD like 1TB will be more than enough, i always delete the unwanted footage.

I had the same issue when recording to the same Hard drive. Record to another one and you'll be fine
