Why do people hate LoL so much ?

I really want to understand this.
I've played lots of HoN, some DOTA 2 and now i'm playing LoL. I could say that LoL has all those players for the same reason WoW has: Easy to learn, hard to master. A good flowing game, controls are really smooth, you can run it on older PCs.

DOTA 2 is good game IMO, but i just can't stand those controls, they feel so clunky. On my first matches i could barely control my champion sometimes and took a lot to understand how to get my last hits and denies.

What are your opinions on this ? Why do people hate this game so much ?
It's just a case of "let's hate because a lot of people play it" (Like WoW had) ?

It's just that every time i see people talking about LoL there comes a DOTA 2 / HoN player saying how much more hardcore he is because he isn't playing LoL and how easy LoL is and yadda yadda yadda.

The hate comes from a minority that seems to think that playing a different games makes you better than someone else. That's something that i just can't understand.

It's typical for arguments over games like that to happen over games in the same genre, i.e. Call of Duty vs. Battlefield.

I also don't understand why people hate LoL, specially those stupid people that are always saying "LoL>DOTA2! nobooobobo" and vice versa... I mean if you like the game play, good, it's suposed to make you good and feel the fun, if you don't, don't complain about it simple. But people can't keep their mouths shut :b

The community is one of the primary reasons, and also the entire genre is much despised by many for a variety of reasons.

Primarily, the fact that trolls can ruin your gaming experience but you're *stuck wasting potentially an hour or longer for no reason sitting there with them.* You can't just say "oh, a troll, I'm just going to leave and move on to a game with people that want to play for real." You can technically leave and go do something else, but eventually you get banned for that. Yep, banned for leaving games because people in it are trolling and ruining the experience for everyone.

That's my issue. I have a lot of fun with LoL, but I hate the fact that a player can just intentionally ruin everything and I am stuck sitting through it for a very long period of time.

You hate the community ? Try playing on the Brazilian server like i have to do to get an average latency. You know the average "BR LOL LOL BR" that used to plague NA ? Now imagine his nest. Yep, that's what i have to go through to play with 120-140ms. If i say "GL HF" when a match begins some guy will say things like "Stfu idiot" and if i say "GG" after a match i will get flammed. I've had to see people doing absurd things like saying that i "KSed them" and they were playing support. And so on.

You know what's also fun ? Riot is going to shut down ranked matches for a few hours per day to avoid people smurfing and leting friends win from 3-4 am to 9 am. People were creating accounts, levelling them to lvl 30, getting on ranked and dodgin until they were playing against their buddies just to let them win.

I understand that the community on every MOBA is terrible. Really, it's bad in DOTA 2 and HoN too. It was bad in DOTA.

I don't hate LoL, I hate the fact that it's blown out of proportion like some super game when it truly is not, much like guild wars 2.

the community is awful, and if you`re on the losing team people just whine and complain and say mean shit. people don`t realize you win and you lose. before the game even starts people are yelling about each other. the game itself is enjoyable.

it`s the same with HoN, 90% of the people in HoN games are assholes. I have no experience with DotA 2.

I love LoL. I just can't bring myself to play with the community. So I play Awesomenauts, where most people are having fun, and communication with a number of people is limited to button commands.

I hate it because its too popular, i'm not even kidding.

This means that people who have never touched a computer, or people like my 10 year old brothers wants to play it because their friends are already playing, and basically most of the people in the game is noobs.

The reason its so popular is probably the same reason angry birds is so popular, its a very easy game, compared to other MOBA style games like Dota

thats not true LA. The community is way better than Dota2, Hon and Dota 1 together. Yes solo queue is frustrating sometimes, but that only because you let yourself getting frustrated. Its a pvp game, everyoen will get mad, and you can easily get to high lvl if you are just playing good(im 2,3 EUW and 2,5 EUNE) . Remember that its the biggest community in a MOBA game ever, so ye ofc there are some whiners. And you can solve this community problem if you find some friends.

Don't know too many people who really HATE it, but many who play it hate the playerbase for often being annoying and childish trolls. Then there's those who find the whole game to be childish and a waste of time.

Most people seem to love it though. One of the most popular games in the world, the most played one last year I think. 38 million active accounts?..

Game is awesome, but it seems that players take it too seriously and will hate other people just for playing a champ. (No matter how good, noob champ is noob champ!)
