The main problem with making a gun with a 3d printer is getting the design just right in the cad stage. Its not exactly one solid state item. Each moving part must be within tolerances perfectly otherwise you would not even hear a bang or a click. The item will be just as useful as a toy gun model.

That's the easy part. The gun not blowing up in your face would be the main problem. And getting the ammo.
