Lately, I've really taken a shine to Wilfred! And whoever posted that picture of Alf is an ass Terrified me as a kid.

2. Married With Children
3. TBBT
Not including animated ones...
1. The Big Bang Theory
2. How I Met Your Mother
3. That 70's Show
It's both interesting and pleasing to see M*A*S*H get so many mentions. I'm not sure I can quite think of it as a sitcom in my mind, but it's certainly one of the best shows ever made.
Although truth be told I don't watch enough television to really have two more shows to mention.
Sorry it's just so hard for me to list just American so I'll go both sides of the pond.
USA: Friends, Soap and Big Bang Theory.
UK: Red Dwarf, Open all Hours and Black Adder.
not in any order of pref really.
1. Only fools and horses ( how on earth didnt anyone mention it!!!)
2. 2 and a half men
3. Big bang theory
Seinfeld and How I Met Your Mother share a second place, but Friends is the ultimate sitcom of all time.
Friends
Big Bang Theory
third is tricky because there's SO many that I love... but one of...
New Girl
HIMYM
Scrubs
fresh prince

In no particular order.
Blackadder, The Big Bang Theory, Father Ted
I'm surprised this has gone on this long and only ONE person mentioned 'The Simpsons'.
Plus, it's impossible to narrow it down to only 3.
In no particular order:
Simpsons
HIMYM
Big Bang Theory
Futurama
Cheers --> Holds up surprisingly well, even today, although by season 4 Shelley Long is really grating - gets good again when she leaves (RIP Ernie Pantuzzo - BEST character of ALL TIME)
Scrubs (lets pretend the seasons where the old crew become teachers never happened)
And probably others I'm forgetting. Never really got into Seinfeld, and my wife is absolutely OBSESSED with Friends, and can probably quote every single episode word for word. I like Friends, just think it's a little dated now. But, this is my opinion.
Seinfeld
Friends
Cheers
Runners up:
Frasier
3RD Rock From The Sun
That 70's Show

I am shocked at the amount of people who like Big Bang Theory...
1) Community
2) It's always sunny in Philadelphia
3) Malcolm in in the Middle
I know these are not real sitcoms and quite frankly i dont care. These are the funniest shows i have ever seen.

Scrubs
Married with Children (I still watch the reruns on TV!)
Everybody Loves Raymond
Breaking Bad
House
(When I was young, FRIENDS would have been on the list, but I've seen it way too much (They air 4 episodes every day in my country))
