How do you assign macro's in LoL with the K90?

I love this keyboard to death but the macro's won't work with League of Legends?
I assign to level up a ability with lets say: F9 then I assign F9 to G1: nothing happens when I press G1 afterwards, while it did record the macro when I made it.

Make sure the actual G1 key gives out the F9 command in other games.
Assign the G1 key to something like... maybe O or P and then try binding it to an keybind in LoL.
It might be that LoL doesn't allow for this kind of shenanigans or you did the G-key setup wrong.

I think LoL just doesn't allow it, been experimenting all day.

From what i can gather other players have K90 working in LoL.

Update software/firmware for K90 and enable "Hardware Playback"

I have no way of testing but its worth a try.
