Question [GTX 480] Overclocking and fan temp.

So I tried to OC my GTX 480 today, reached stable settings at:
    core cloak 860
    shader cloak 1720
memory cloak 2205, can go up to 2.4k, but wanted see exp'd OCing oppinion

fan speed = core temp in settings, usually since I OCed gpu, temp reaches 75C and fan also at 75% load in BF3 1920x1080.

My question is, is it pointless to go higher at memory cloak than 2k+ with my current stable shader/core cloaks and FAN load, should i change settings or 75% load is okay on AIR in BF3? I'm wondering if I won't kill my fan cooler like that...?

I haven't played with voltage boosting, because doesn't know how far I can go with air cooling, basically I want to get stable core cloak to 900 and shader to about 1700-1800, but for that I need voltage change which is kind of risky for me, since never done it before for gpu's

started to see artifacts while playin BF under 900 core cloak, so going down to 800/1600 with 2k memory cloak for now with 1.1k v

while playing BF, max core temp reached 73C so I'll stay on this profile for a while, don't want to damage this card while not planned to upgrade for couple months...

I OCed GPU, cuz I had 20fps in BF3, now I get 40-60+ with extra 150 core cloack OC

I have a gtx 465 and the highest stable overclock without touching voltages was 750 core and 1750 memory, which is a pretty large improvement over the 607 stock core clock. I know of people hitting 900 when they raise the voltage but i really dont see a point in doing that, dont touch voltage and have card last longer imo.

20 fps on a 480...@ stock my 6950 doesnt even break a sweat in BF3, I'd be checking other problems as the 480 is not a bad card nor is it underpowered. It is a power hungry whore w/ a heat output like a heater.

the problem is my old processor and RAM, since its q8300 which is couple years old and RAM is also old, ddr2 + I would upgrade instantly RAM if I could, but my motherboard doesn't support ddr-3
