Iran Vs Israel War. Would you want your country to get involved?

If Iran and Israel war does break out, would you want your country to get involved?

Personally, I am just tired of them both. Almost every single on Israel's neighbours dislikes them, surely it can't be that they are all wrong. Holocaust happened ages ago and it's one of the lowest points in human history but it can't be used to oppress the Palestinians till the end of time.

Iran on the other hand is taking small steps towards talibanisation. Recently they put restrictions on girls' education and the 'blow up the zionist' rhetoric is just plain tired now. They are definitely trying to get nukes but I just don't see how Iran having nukes is any worse than pakistan or North Korea having nukes?

If I was being honest, I dislike them both and would not want my country to get involved in their war. I am from Australia. let them fight it out.

So If a war breaks out between Israel and Iran, would you want your country to get involved? List which country you are from if you feel like.

The USA. We should be backing Israel. Tough Love but we should still love. No one in the middle east WANTS Iran to have access to Nukes. Israel is just the only one who is doing anything about it. Egypt, SA, and many others don't want Iran to have Nukes. Easy solution, to make sure WWIII doesn't break out is if Iran just say "You know, if it means that much to you, then I'll stop." Then everyone will be happy.

No I don't, but that's wish fully thinking because the United States will end up in war with Iran if the Israelis attack them.

As usual, my country, the U.S, will get involved.... But, I'm not sure if this is really a good thing or not, in my opinion we need to stop getting involved in foreign conflicts, and being the "International Police." But with that being said, we do also have to worry about our own national security now, if Iran does gain access to nukes, we know that they will come after us, because whether or not we want to admit it, they do not like us. So this is actually a pretty interesting topic, and i'd love to see some other input from fellow mmo-champ users!

No. I don't want another war/conflict. Heck, war keeps me gainfully employed and I don't want it.

I don't understand how this is even a question.

Its just a bunch of savages wanting to kill each other like they have for the last 2000 years.

At this point I just hope Iran strikes 1st. For all the crap US is catching lately (for good reason) I just really don't want to have to tell my kids someday that our allies started some shit and we had there backs so started WW3
We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;—
World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers, Of the world for ever, it seems.

As an American, I feel that we would have a duty (to our word, not our interests, necessarily) to support Israel if she were attacked, including troops on the ground if it turned into an actual war. If Israel starts it (besides their covert sabotage program, I mean), I wouldn't want the US to get involved, but we would anyways.

However, as a signatory to the NPT, Iran has a right to develop their nuclear power program, and a commitment to not develop weapons. They officially have done nothing but stand by that stance, and I believe that they are innocent until proven guilty of breaking that treaty. Israel is a non-signatory with a sizable nuclear arsenal, and I think the belief that Iran is attempting to gain and use nukes against Israel ignores the fact that countries do not generally want to commit suicide. (though, as a rational observer of the region, I think they have much reason not to trust the west and to believe they need to be able to defend themselves against us)

It would get really messy if a war broke out, and my opinion is that the best course of action is to leave Iran alone, so long as they allow inspectors access. There has been no hard evidence they're militarizing their nuclear program, so far as I know.

As an American citizen, Hell no. I am pissed that Israel has so much influence in American politics (this is the only thing both sides support and that pisses me off big time).

I never understand why people support Israel over U.S. interest. Every arguments ever turns into Israel is a strategic ally and the only democracy in the Middle East. I can't understand how random forum posters have any idea on U.S.'s geopolitical strategy or foreign policy. Even people from Israel don't know whether it is a theocracy or a democracy or democratic theocracy.

Israel is a soverign nation. Its interests lies with his own. Let Israel deal with its own problem. U.S. involvement is unfair. Thats why Israel can do whatever it wants without any consequences because of its relationship with Israel.

    ---------- Post added 2012-09-24 at 10:05 PM ----------

Also, i think it will be a very bad idea. If U.S. or any of the powers get involve it will become far more than a regional dispute and into a world war.

No, we shouldn't be fighting wars unless it DIRECTLY involves any America or if we get attacked (North, Central, South.) They are an ally, and they are also capable adults. If they fall, that's just what it is, you can't hold hands with them all the way.

Personally, I'd tell Israel that I'm going to look the other way, do what you want.

Otherwise, yeah, the US will have to back them. I don't think Obama is very fond of Israel, but if wants reelection, he would have to help.

No, my country does not belong in middle east conflicts.
Unless USA or a close ally(a real one, not Israel) gets attacked on its own soil, it should not be in a war.

As unfortunate as it is, absolutely. Israel has stated that in the case of a war, if they were under invasion they would not hesitate to launch nukes. This, of course, would be extremely bad and could very possibly (if not probably) start a nuclear war. So yes, I think we would have to.
Though I suppose want to would be a no for me. I suppose I feel as if we would need to.

No, I'm sick of war I'm sick of the US having to be involved. It's not like Israel can't fight its own war. The thing is if US does go to war, we will be seen as warmongering barbarians, if we don't go to war we will be seen as sissies who don't aid their allies...it's a lose-lose for us. The thing is if we just let Israel and Iran fight it would just be another war, I feel if US gets involved it could lead to another world war.

However, if Iran just nukes Israel for no reason then it should be the duty of the UN to get involved...obviously.

    Fuck no.

I'm in the US. Why the fuck should we care what Israel does? They are a sovereign nation, we are not their dog. If they want to go to war against Iran, they can do it without us. If Iran attacks them, then maybe (and that's a big maybe) I can see helping to fight a defensive war. But if Israel is the aggressor, fuck them.

I saw the President on Iran in an interview with Piers Morgan not more then an hour ago. He was speaking about various events. One of those that people should not inf ere in other peoples events. Naturally as an American I have great concern that if US is involved it would involve in more deaths..more money being spent and for what? we will not get any personal benefit from this.

It's sad that we are placed in a situation where we have to support something halfway around the world instead of focusing on ourselfs. The last war in the middle east has dragged out and it's still not over. What would the US get from this?
