Yes, usually Standard is the only one, but SCG does weekly Legacy tournaments and Modern will soon be able to be sanctioned at FNMs.

I feel like if you're going to go outside of Standard you might as well go full Legacy. The only really crazy cards you'll be adding at that point are the Power 9 and a few old mechanics like Bonding.

Most, but Modern is getting VERY popular and has pretty much erased Extended from existence. Modern is or will be about as big pretty soon.

Never really got the point of Extended. Yeah, a few mechanics from 10 were neat, but they weren't anything groundbreaking or game changing.

Still not that big of an increase. Most of the staple cards were reprinted, and the few unique cards from 2010 weren't anything that would make or break a deck.

Oh. Then Legacy is pretty bust too. Too many of the old mechanics just won't work right with modern cards. The only reason to run Legacy over Modern then would be to have access to more Dual Lands.

Extended has basically been officially cancelled once Modern started. They messed up Extended once they went from 7 years to 4 years, which was why Modern was needed in the first place.
