Warlock Streams

When this thread started Twitch wasn't the undisputed leader, and streams weren't so common. Back then a list of people actually playing Warlocks and where to find them seemed like something useful. Right now, not so much anymore.

Problem is that pretty much everyone with a stream will have that stream in their signature. Twitch is the default place where pretty much everyone has their stream, so it's not hard to look for active streams at a time you want to watch. This thread (or any other) would take work to keep it relevant, when there's not actually that many people using the thread (we think). People use it to get their stream name out there, but actually using it to find a relevant stream? Not so much.

So, we decided to unstick it and watch what happens. With Alpha/Beta eventually (I hope ) starting we can use the spot that came open this way by adding a new Index for all the WoD threads that will be relevant. That keeps the list of stickies managable, and the most relevant information easily accessable.

Again, we're open to hear why the thread should stay stickied, but for the moment we've decided that keeping the thread in the Warlock Index should be enough to keep it within easy reach for people.

I guess I'm fine with it being unsticked while everyone's just doing farm, waiting for WoD, but I still feel like an all-in-one-place location for warlocks organized by raid time is invaluable, and should remain sticked.

My argument for it remaining stickied is that, as you said yourself, a small amount of people even look at the warlock index. On top of that, the stream thread would likely be updated rarely, so would basically never stay on the front page, or even the first few pages. As a result, I feel like a lot of people who visit the warlock forum may not even know that it exists, and that it's something that they can use. Having it stickied means people, including people who are just visiting the forums for the first time, can know that it exists.

I feel like the people who are most likely to use the thread are people visiting the first time, and may be looking for people who they can watch to improve their play, or just watch people. Most people who have been a while likely won't even need it, as they'll have likely seen it in peoples signatures, or previously visited the thread.

I'm just not sure the targeted audience of the thread will even know of the thread's existence if it's not stickied.

I think the largest argument for this being unstickied is that I've not been an active member of this community, outside of maintaining the thread, for over a year. The list of streams also needs a good spring cleaning before a new thread is started as I'm sure a lot of them are no longer active.

Maybe a new post by a moderator at the start of every expansion/tier could work. People can submit their own streams or streams they know work and mods can edit the OP.
