    Choosing between 2 monitors

    Hi!

I recently upgraded my gaming rig except my monitor, I am looking for a 24 inch at around $250 US dollars or less and after looking at newegg I liked two options and would like to know if the Dell ultrasharp is much better that is worth paying the extra 60 bucks over the ASUS option. Below is the link for both:

How about the Dell U2312? It's $200 at Amazon, IPS (I think it is eIPS, which is like 6 bit instead of 8 bit but it is a big increase in quality over the Asus and I believe Dell P monitor you chose) and it's going to have better pixel density at 23 inches over 24. ^_^

If you don't take DeltrusDisc's suggestion, definitely go with the Asus of those two. But I would highly suggest you get what he linked instead.

The dell you linked isn't an ultrasharp. If you're looking for a really good dell monitor, the U2410 is the way to go, but costs $300-$400 on sale.

From the options you linked, go with the ASUS.

Another on the ASUS, I've got 2x VH242H & 1x PA238Q and I've got zero complaints about them.

this is just MY personal opinion. but go to the store (if possible, and not to buy) and look at them in person.. and then make a list of the ones you like the picture quality and check for issues.. tv/monitor is something i always want to see in person first.. because whats good to my eyes may not be good to yours or someone elses.

i've seen monitors with great specs but seeing them run i was like whats this crap?

Thank you all for your intel, so what I take from this is that the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824260055
Will be a better option over the first 2 I posted right?

I'd suggest the U2312 that I linked, less expensive and almost just as good. Half the price less expensive, too.

I'd get it from Amazon, it's $200 there.

Unless you really need the low response time that Dell IPS on Amazon would be the better buy. Response time isn't the be all and end all either for gaming. There is input lag etc.

btw from a quick google the Dell U2312 supposedly has excellent input lag while the Asus VE248H has pretty crappy input lag (at least some of the early ones).
