Strength and armor in WoD

Recently found out that the proc on the tank ring in the legendary quest line is strength. Do I as a warrior still gain armor from str?
Doesn't say anything about it ingame and a quick google didn't tell me anything either. Is this just a dps proc for us tanks?

Strength never granted armor. Agility used to, but that was removed a long time ago.

As a tank, strength gives you parry and attack power, which increases the effectiveness of attack-power related defensive abilities (Shield Barrier, if you mean for your warrior).
