I don't mind the Asian themes.
I do wish the other races were a bit better represented throughout the zones, but I can understand why they aren't
Why are people so over the top defensive about the theme? Is it that hard to accept that some people just don't like the oriental theme? It is a concern for me sometimes, If I was a new player entering now that MoP is out, I don't think I would even buy the game because of it, I just straight up don't like the theme, end of story. Thats not to say that I'm telling you all not to like it either, thats just the way I roll and I fully understand why a ton of people love the theme too.
I do feel a little disapointed that they chose this direction for the expansion, but thats just my personal thoughts, its not just my game so I'm not entitled to complain. I think, like you, I will wait for the next expansion and not play this one so much as I have others.
Er..
"To many players, the story or background of Warhammer is just as important as games and miniatures. Alongside the Dungeons & Dragons Greyhawk setting, Warhammer is among the oldest of commercial fantasy worlds, a direct descendant of both that game and Tolkien's Middle-earth, though the 1st edition cited Robert E Howard (Conan the Barbarian) alongside Michael Moorcock and Tolkien as influencing fantasy table-top games. What is recognizable as the Warhammer World began with the first edition of the game, but it evolved as its own setting with the release of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay in 1986 and the 3rd edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle in 1987."
Warcraft:
"First release: Warcraft: Orcs & Humans - November 1994"
Warcraft was released almost 10 years after Warhammer.
Besides, it's clear that Blizzard was REALLY inspired by Games Workshop's Warhammer.
English is not my first language, feel free to point out any mistake so i can keep learning.
Dude. There's a special link for just this comment. Don't take it as an attack though ^^

Not yet, but I do know I'll be pretty damn tired of that main menu theme at the end of the expansion.
Nooooo. No more than I got tired of any other "theme". Did you play WotLK and go, "Man, is anyone else sick of all this snow and undead everywhere? And the Norse mythology, I'm so tired of seeing it."
Seriously, people are FAR too hung up on this China thing. Christ.
Once you go troll, you never reroll. -heard on cynicalbrit.com. Epic.
loving every single bit of MoP so far definitely including the scenery, makes a change from Orgrimmar anyway
That's like saying you were tired of the "cold" vibe of Northrend. The theme of this expansion is Asian flavoured art. Sure there will be sub-themes, like the troll future invasion (don't quote me on this, im just theorising) as Northrend had Sholazar Basin and Outland had Nagrand.
But yeah.. we'll have the asian theme for the entire duration.
I really couldn't get the idea that the whole expansion was just an excuse for the art director to flex his chinaboner out of my head. I'm not saying the game usually has award-winning writing, but i personally felt it was especially bad this time around. They shoe-horned in so much corny/stereotypical ying-yang ching-chong "harmony blah blah peace to the land blah blah one with everything" nonsense it left me rolling my eyes every 5 minutes. I've already completely forgotten virtually everything that happened between level 85-90 because frankly I found it painful. (Both the writing, and the flow of jumping back and fourth between quests and hubs)
That isn't to say I didn't enjoy the experience overall (75% of the enjoyment being post-90) and I'm still playing now, so they did something right.
