Do you refresh with fel flame?

Was just in icey veins looking at rotations and it doesn't mention refreshing corruption with fel flame. This is something I have been doing and don't understand why it's not mentioned there. Is it a dps loss to refresh this way?

When you refresh with fel flame it only adds 2 ticks to the current duration left, so its not an effective way to refresh. The real purpose of Felflame is to keep them up while you are moving while getting some movement DPS in.

Earlier I read you could use fel flame to extend your corruption up to 24 seconds. Has this changed?

No but it would take a couple felflames to do it. Each felflame will add about 6ish seconds. Go try it on a target dummy you will see what i mean

Personally I use fel flame to reset DoTs if both a) my DoTs are nearly fresh and b) trinkets just proc'd. I'll also use fel flame after each haunt during procs to maximize haunt + malefic grasp + super DoT uptime. I won't hardcast the DoTs until the procs are about to expire.
