Hostess is going out business and liquidating its assets, victim to changing consumer tastes and a huge nationwide union strike. 18,500 workers are promptly going to lose their jobs, which can't be particularly good for the economy. On the other hand, it's an indicator that maybe people are really starting to eat healthier.

I feel bad for those people, but your last sentence really made me think. I haven't touched any Hostess snacks for a few years now because they're so ridiculously bad for you. I remember looking on the back of a Honey Bun the last time I had one and seeing that it alone had enough calories for a whole meal, and that pretty much stopped me from eating another one of those types of foods. Maybe people all over are really starting to do something like that, which would be a good thing overall.

Again, I feel for those people. As someone who was unemployed for a while and who recently just got a job again, unemployment blows.
