This story is from waaaaay before the LotR time. To me he just looks younger in the new movie.

60 years. Out of how long Gollum has lived at the end of LotR (600 years) that shouldn't make a difference.

I'm not talking about the time the story took place. I'm talking about the new visual style they went with for the new movie.
I'm talking about the CGI quality of his character compared to the way it was before. It looks too "flashy" for lack of a better term. The way the colors are and such. it's much more vibrant and detailed.

Oh, I see a difference. I see that he's younger. And thus less wrinkly and a healthier looking skin, since he hasn't been under the influence of the ring yet.

He has! He's had the ring for nearly 600 years at that point. That's when he loses it! You see him in some flashbacks in LotR where he looks just as old. But for some reason he's more shiny and saturated in The Hobbit.

60 years isn't really waaaay in Tolkien's universe. Especially when Gollum already had the ring for a long ass time already. My concern is that Bilbo looks different(I know different actor) when it's explained that the ring stops aging so Bilbo looked as though he just found the ring in Lotr but is visually younger in The Hobbit.

I've understood it as though Bilbo still ages, but not at normal rate. But Gandalf does tell him "You haven't aged a day." in LotR now that I think about it. Then again, look what happened to Smeagol.
