Exclamation Is it weird I kinda like isolation ?

Some of my happiest times are when I was alone thinking to myself about stuff. Being isolated is kinda how a recharge my batteries.

    Anyone else like that?

    That's called introversion. Totally normal.

Approximately 25% of people are introverts (don't have a source for that).

    I'm an introvert too.

That's not even remotely weird. Not only is it completely normal, but it doesn't even necessarily mean you're introverted--just that you are not strongly extroverted. I'm pretty sure most people share your feelings.

I'm like you, my happiest moments are when I'm alone, or when I'm around small groups of people, I hate being around 10 or more people, always makes me kinda nervous and uncomfortable.

Enjoying some alone time is a sign of good mental health

Extroversion is extremely weird to me but only because I don't know what life is like as an extrovert.

And don't think all introverts are secluded hermits. I am an introvert and I love people, I loved being out in the world but its draining. Too many stimuli going in and not enough being digested.

Perfectly normal and I agree, some alone time is great for a recharge sometimes. =)

I am an introvert too, I feel more comfortable alone or talking one on one with someone.
How comfortable you are when there's many people around you can be affected by training yourself. After a few years of having to socialize a lot at work I feel much more confident (although not comfortable). I would advise (if you seek it) against indulging yourself too much with isolation (lest you will be freaked out someday when you will have to show off your social skills).

That being said, I have trouble imagining an extrovert (like the poster above), how can they feel better among other people. That's just too foreign, unnatural to me.
Rincewind: Ah! We may, in fact, have reached the root of the problem. However it's a silly problem and so I am suddenly going to stop talking to you.

It's only weird if you think it's weird.

Nope, not weird at all. I like being alone, in the dark, when there's a storm raging outside. And I know I'm not the only one. In fact, I think it's weird some people don't ever want to be alone.

This is exactly why its weird, you have to be secluded or you start getting irritable or feeling tired or whatever.

It is weird. People are social creatures by nature.

What's "weird" are the jerks like Kreeb or Gambwelf who troll and try and make you feel bad for being introverted. It's perfectly normal as long as it isn't giving you any mental anguish.

  20. #20
Introverts get recharged from alone time.

Extroverts get recharged from interaction and being around others.

And Warp is right. About 25% of people are introverts, so yes, it's very normal.
