Underworld is vampires and werewolves done right, with Kate Beckinsale in skin-tight leather.

Gladiator is a fun little embellishment of the period immediately after the death of Marcus Aurelius, the last competent/good Emperor of Rome. Follows a general turned slave out for revenge for his slain family.

A Knight's Tale is a goofy ass story starring Heath Ledger as he tries to become a knight despite being a commoner.

The Hurricane is based on a book. It's the tale of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a boxer imprisoned and eventually exonerated in a murder/robbery in the 1960's.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is pretty typical over the top anime, but it's got a couple interesting twists. It's also basically Blade in anime form.
