What's next? Spending money to prove that we went to the moon? That unicorns does not exist? That lepricons are a myth and Nessi was a hoax?

At some point we have to take a step forward as a species and let the natural selection takes it's course.
I'm seriously sick of the stupidity of the human kind.
I'm sure that a few people from NASA voluntarily spending a few minutes to explain how retarded this is is costing a lot of money.

Also, there's nothing natural about the way we live, it's not really natural selection.

the closest thing to a "prophecy" in the mayan calendar is that its the beginning of a new era or cycle had the mayans still been around today they would probably have another calendar in place for this new cycle and in fact they already did there is concrete evidence that the mayans had some sort of calendar after this one and multiple things in tombs and monuments talk about certain dates far beyond dec 21.

people need to remember that A the mayans as we know them in stories are pretty much all dead and B like 99% of all the writings and drawings created by the mayans were destroyed by the Spanish because it was "Satanic works of the devil"

anything other then the answer i just gave you is complete bullshit things like asteroids and whatnot we wouldve seen a LONG time ago and any asteroid big enough to end the world would already be visible as well as any other object. there is no evidence to support any zombies or massive solar flares or huge tsunamis.

now that this is about to be out of the way i vote for 2060 to be the new doomsday date and i expect apocalypse 2060 programs on all the major history and science channels O-O

The Maya made no such claims. Astrologers and new-age spiritualists are the sources for those notions, not anything in Maya culture or mythology. Refer to the paper in my signature.

The Maya said nothing about that either. That too is a case of 20th century fringe believers projecting their ideas and wishful thinking on a defunct civilization and its mythology.

It's part of the utterly meaningless warm-fuzzy language of new-age spiritualists, very much like their wanton abuse of the term "energy".
You took my post too seriously which is something I tried to get across but apparently didn't do a good enough job.

    I said,
If the Mayans really did predict the future
Notice the "If" there. If the mayans (or anyone else) could predict the future (not saying they did) you would not be able to apply logic to it because it would be something outside of normal logic.

There will be a shift into the age of Aquarius, but that doesn't really mean much.

If you actually do research, you'll see that the Mayans never said the world would end on that date. Just that we would enter into some higher state of awareness.
There are good people in every corner of the planet. Unfortunately, the Earth is round.

Will something happen on that date? Maybe so. Has something happened already? Yes. Will something happen after that date? I have no idea. Is something going on in the world? Plenty of stuff is going on. Global warming and strange weather patterns; strange noises; strange sightings, etc. Will our world be destroyed? Nope. Will mankind have to face some disaster? Yes. Today? No. Tomorrow? No. December 21, 2012? Another day in our world. What to be worried about you ask? I'm more worried about humans, rather than a natural disaster. Human conflict in the streets will happen soon - we will fight to survive. Nothing last forever they say. Are so called, "perfect" world," is falling apart. Look around you.

Something small will happen most likely, a flood, earthquake, someone shooting 15 people, something always happens, and people will point at it as the first of many signs.

And thene the story repeats on whatever the next end of the world date is.

I really get mad at this stuff, seriously.

Who said that the "world will end"? because no mayan ever said such thing... NEVER... they saw an "important change incoming"... nothing else =D and, in fact, they were CORRECT about it!
