    Wifi Speed Issues

I'm having a problem with my Wifi connection in my bedroom. The download speeds are insanely slow, according to Speedtest.net in my room I am getting about 5 down/2.5 up but in my living room and kitchen I am getting around 20 down/3 up.

My apartment is configured almost in a "U" shape. My living room comprises the bottom part of the "U" and my bedroom/kitchen are on the left and right sides respectively. My router is located in the living room. The weird thing is that there are the same number of walls between my room and router compared to my kitchen and router, so I dont know why I'd be getting slow speeds on one side of my apartment and not the other. My connection, despite being very slow, is very stable--its just slow.

Any idea what could be causing this issue?

    Thanks

Walls won't slow down a wifi signal very much.

It's what's -inside- the wall that really screw things up. the more metal pipes and live wires running by, the more interference (which means more dropped packets going back and forth, which means more time spent reclaiming missing packets, which means slower speeds)
