So finally finished building my pc, installed windows. Now on my laptop downloading mobo drivers, except their's a huge list of em. And some of them are the same with 7x series in front of them. Which I have no idea what it means, I'm afraid to load them in, in case something happens.

First, we need to know what OS you have.
Saithes provided the Chipset drivers which is helpful, I guess. But you still need the other ones (based off what OS you have)

He gave you the download links from the specific manufacturers of each part. Those are pretty much the ones you need.
Just to confirm, you DO have Win7 64bit, right?

I do, so I download those 5 and the other 1 right at the top and that would be all for the mobo? Then the GPU needs them also right?

You don't need the Intel Management Engine drivers unless you're a network admin

The others - you should definitely keep them up to date. The BIOS too.

    You're thinking of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_A...ent_Technology

MEI is different. MEI is what handles functions of the hardware outside Bios. Its a bios extension that allows control of hardware without needing to be in the bios.

AMT is one of the functions of this along with vPro but its much more than just that.

Just download and install all that I linked.

For your graphics card, you'll want this:
    http://www2.ati.com/drivers/12-10_vi..._whql_net4.exe

If the link above doesn't work, it's located on this page:
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...w_vista64.aspx

Download "Catalyst Software Suite with .NET 4 Support"

So those 5 for the mobo and that one for the graphics card? I know I'm asking the same thing over and over, but I'm a first time builder and most of the parts were a gift so I don't want to break anything ^^'

Yes. Those should be all that you need for the motherboard and the graphics card. Don't worry, its pretty difficult to actually break any modern hardware anymore simply by installing drivers (Microsoft put in measures to help prevent it)

Basically even if you install a wrong driver, it won't matter because Windows either won't use it or the installer won't allow you to install it.

Okay thanks so much ^^ gonna start downloading them. Will post when I have more problems haha
