Japan or Korea?

I think I would go to Korea first, because it's more foreign (to me) than Japan is. Couldn't you take a shorter trip to both countries ? :P

I would most likely go to China first of any Asian country, to bad there's tension between Norway and China (because of the Liu Xiaobo peace price).
Last i heard we aren't allowed to enter the forbidden city, China will deny Norwegians visa to enter. Which is sad, since it's one of the major attractions..

I don't know but I think I'd rather go to Japan first, although I would love to go to Korea too.

What type of culture though? Like a lot of traditional Japanese culture is either Chinese (mostly) or Korean (2nd place) and finally truly 100% bred in Japan (lastly) I have a "friend" who loves Japan and is racist towards Koreans for some weird fucking reason and she goes on about how Japan has better traditional culture than Korea. I feel a lot of people overlook the things that Japan has that are influenced by Korean culture and Chinese culture.

South Koreans like us, but mention Japan and they suddenly hate us for being their allies as well. Trust me, I have 3 south korean neighbors. My friend was born here so he's American just like anyone else, but his parents spent most of their lives in south korea.

As an English speaker, I think you'd have an easier time in South Korea than in Japan, and I think you'd be a bit more readily accepted as well. You're going to look like a tourist either way, but at least you should have an easy time of it.

Havent visited Japan, but Korean dont speak English much when I was there. From what I heard, Japan is infamous for its hostility towards white foreigners, but it should only matters if you intend to work there.
