How is this game? is it worth getting

I haven't played it, but if it's anything like the last one for the DS, it really wouldn't be worth getting new, as it's pretty much the same gameplay.

I got it for Christmas, haven't played it at all yet. I have heard that it's just kind of a time killer kind of game like Angry Birds or something for when you're on the pooper, although, I can't tell you myself if that's true or not,

Same as the other NSMB games, with a cheap coin gimmick. It was probably just made to sell 3DS XLs and as a cash grab. Still, it's a fun little time waster, just don't expect much.
New Super Mario Bros U is the best of the NSMB series, so if you have a Wii U and really need your 2D Mario fix get it instead. It at least has a new power up and some extra game modes (some of which are actually pretty challenging).
