so.. did blizzard just decide not to model these statues or are they meant to look that bad? lol

Erm ... a you thinking these are supposed to be Pandaren or something? They're not, they're mogu.
compare the login screen ones to the in-game ones. the in-game ones look terrible lolErm ... a you thinking these are supposed to be Pandaren or something? They're not, they're mogu.
They look awesome in game. They look awesome on the loading screen too but the assets are pushed to the acceptable limits and need to be "streamlined" for performance.

Really, this is like comparing a CG cutscene from a game to the actual gameplay. Generally going to be nowhere similar in terms of how they look in terms of quality due to performance issues.
The ones on my screen have far more detailing than that. Get closer to them.
This concept of wuv confuses and infuriates us.
Pretty sure the login-screen statues are just illustrations
Yeah they lack fine detail, because all thousands of years old statues have no degradation, stop being lazy Blizz!
seeing as the comparison picture is also with really low graphics (based off the fact the view distance cuts off right near them) I would think it would be hard for an opinion to hold ground based on that >.>
as awesome as the login screen looks, it would take too much of they were like that ingame also.
sure there are enough people with top end computers who could easily handle it, but blizzard always designed WoW so that mid and even end computers would be able too run it smoothly also (if you do a correct setting). thats why the graphics are quite "bad"
They are statues, sculpture, and very old at that. They don't serve anything like the same purpose as a game model and would look ridiculous in context if they did look just like the login screen. Statues don't look like paintings.
"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
It helps to not have your graphic settings at low.
Its an illustration for crying out loud of course its better than in game, peop,e never complained about how the Dark Portal on the first two loading screens looked back in vanilla and TBC...
It's called; making the login-screen more important. More people see that, than the actual ingame statues...
Not a big shocker. The VoEB is probably the biggest let-down in WoW's history. Hyped beyond comparison in marketing and as you quest through Pandaria, but ugly, dull, and without any detail once you get there and see it for yourself.
If you're expecting an illistration and an in game model to look exactly the same, or even remarkably similar in detail, while at the same time wanting wow to be easily accessable Computer wise, you're sadly misinformed. or Naieve
