so is class 10 mini sd card an overkill for smarthphone?
both 4 and 10 are cheap (relatively) but class 10 cost ~60% more and i dont really want to waste money right now on something i dont need
If price is a concern then don't worry too much about it.
Class 4 (4mb/s at least) is good enough for 90% of people.
A faster card is really only useful if you transfer a LOT of data from your phone regularly, and shaving off a few seconds from a 60s transfer is crucial. It also makes it so you can take pictures and better video slightly faster and more reliable.
If you just use your phone for calling and web browsing and the like, 4 is fine.
No you don need a class 10.
The SD card in a smartphone is only used for storage (music, pictures, etc.). The OS (Android) is stored on the internal memory, which is way faster anyway. You probably won't see any difference between a class 4 and 10 in daily use.
Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?
Ryzen 7 2700X | BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 | 16GB DDR4-3200 | MSI X470 Gaming Pro | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G | 500GB / 750GB Crucial SSD

Class10 card might allow better quality video recording, at least on proper cameras it makes huge difference. It's fairly common restriction that to record 1080p you need class10 memory cards, slower cards will cap to 720p or even lower.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
Trolling should be.
The difference between Class 4 and 10 is more important for DSLR cameras and taking HD video on those kind of devices and camcorders, more than phones. It just happens to be that they use the same medium for saving data.
