So, Al Gore the co-ower of the cable channel "current" sells the venue to Al Jeezera. Which is ultimately owned by the Emir of quatar, who got all his money through big oil.

Even his own staffers and employees think hes a jackass.


I always thought Al Gore was a blowhard, glad to see hes showing his true "green" colors.

The only "green" al gore has ever been worried about is the kind that comes in paper form.

Well Mr. Wells im just linking a story to backup a opinion of Al Gore that i have always had.

If anybody ever thought that Gore stood for something other than money then they were wrong. He's always been about making money and getting publicity, and now it is just more obvious. Glad he decided to come out to everyone about it though.

Though Al Jazeera isn't a "terrorist publication" like a lot of racist morons have been espousing recently. For the most part they report news a lot straighter than Fox or MSNBC.

Well, i enjoy these forums greatly raybourne, but i have a pretty busy life.

I love reading other peoples opinions about political topics, especially euros opinions on American politics.

There are just very few topics I feel I need to try and change anyone elses mind on. Arguing on the internet isn't very effective.

While your Gore is an ass conclusion won't be disputed by many (anyone?), your hypocrite accusation doesn't hold a whole lot of water to me. In recent years AJ has rapidly become a highly respected news outlet, even in the west. Most of its stigma comes from it airing Bin Laden tapes, and quite frankly, isn't that just a matter of the same freedom of speech and freedom of the press America has preached for three centuries? Even if Gore could unilaterally reject an offer - I suspect there is a whole board of directors that could override him - it would be nonsense to reject it based on your reasoning. If you connect enough dots, you could find a 'green' reason to oppose every company in the world. NBC, for example, would be off limits due to its connection with oil tycoon Rockefeller. Besides, oil companies like those in Qatar are diversifying and investing in 'green' energies when it makes sense to do so economically, and similarly getting involved in the rare earth industry. Having been involved in oil is not inherently against Gore's agenda, per se.

Again, I'm not defending Gore, he's an idiot, a fanatic, and yes, I'm sure he really is a hypocrite too. The AJ deal for his business, however, isn't really a reasonable place to drill him on those qualities.
