In a way, it might be leftovers from the fact that the show was originally based on Journey to the West. Another anime, Saiyuki, follows the old story more closely (but is largely a parody of it). In that show, the story starts out revolving around all four characters. Later on, it became "Goku is the only one that can do it", and he has to get stronger (which is largely unnoticeable), and at the end, he literally kicks the shit out of a god. Then they made Saiyuki Reload, and I can't see how it's even remotely watchable, since they completely changed that around and he looks like a pansy now.

It is something I like about One Piece, the character get to show their power on a consistent basis, sure sometimes they go a little longer and some characters are placed into the, we know they are not strong, but can still do something amazing, category.

Each character is never left behind.

It is something I like about One Piece, the character get to show their power on a consistent basis, sure sometimes they go a little longer and some characters are placed into the, we know they are not strong, but can still do something amazing, category.

Each character is never left behind.

The reason is actually pretty obvious, imo. When Celestia saw the immense discharge of magic Twilight showed at the acceptance test for magical school or w/e it was Celestia probably realised that she has a lot of potential.

That is one of the biggest problems of DBZ was how it basically became Goku's story and no one else really got to participate.

We shall see where the show is heading though, I have faith that something similar won't happen.

Well, they saved it with the Cell Saga by forcing it back to Gohan like it was always meant to be from the beginning. That's also why I was glad that Kai ended with the Cell Saga. It really is the perfect ending, as awesome as some of the stuff from the Buu Saga is. Everything came full circle with all the characters.

I just feel like this has been being foreshadowed for a very long time. I mean twilight is Celestia's personal protege. There must have been a reason she took special interest in her. Also Twilight is the time between day and night, and Cadence's colour scheme is very reminiscent of the colours of morning. Idk, I dont think its as outrageous and world ending as a lot of people are making out to be
