Priests are more the main healers, Mystics are the supporty-healers (they drop healing/mana orbs, IIRC). Assuming it's the same as it was in beta.

Guild Wars 2 didn't have a healer. Every class was responsible for their own self healing. There were very very few healing skills in the game that could target other party members, and they all were weaker than personal heals by a long shot

Reading the class guide, the Mystic seems to be a mix of a warlock (curses), a paladin (from auras) and a resto shaman from WoW, for lack of better terms.

From what I can see of priests, they easily can. They are just made that way as there is no soloing tree. You just have everything, and you use it how you like.

Priests have targeted and AOE healing and are the preferred healer for dungeons. I think. Maybe the mystic is viable too. Probably.

Yeah, the only thing I can see you using mainly other than heals is your Backstep clone (which summons a gout of flame at your feet), and an ability that instantly stands up allies that are knocked down.
