I haven't played Dark Souls (not for lack of the game itself, but for lack of a Controller), but Skyrim is really, really good. Amazing game.

If you don't have a controller do not bother with Dark Souls, trust me. Otherwise take whatever the guys recommend more.

Im kinda leaning towards military films, kinda want to watch Starship Troopers again.

Military movies? Damn, that's a hard one. I'm not that good with military movies - I haven't watched a lot of 'em.

Though you could try out Pacific if you want more WW2 stuff?

I don't know, I really enjoyed Skyrim. Might not be the best game in the world but I had a blast playing it. A bit buggy but really well done, very open and organic world, lots of fun fights.

Skyrim has plentiful of mods to increase and balance things.

I would also recommend Skyrim over Dark Souls if you don't have a controller. Also, best played if you have a good grafic card that can handle the game perfectly. Or else you are going to find yourselve fighting at low fps and that is not good.

I think a game with awful combat like tes games with higher difficulty applied is just more annoying and tedious and not fun
same goes for dark souls' ng+(++++). Even though dark souls fighting mechanics are pretty decent for an rpg game, the ng+ just inflates boss' health and damage and nothing else
