what games have I missed?

So, for the last 6 years pretty much the only thing I played was Wow. Last week a friend borrowed me Mass effect and after playing it for a couple of days I started to realize that I must have missed some really awesome games for some time now.

My question is, what are the must have games from the last 6/7 years that I really must try?

(Pc only, the only stuff I played besides Wow was diablo3, dragon age1 and 2, Skyrim, most of the Tony Hawk games and Civilization IV (liked them all, im pretty much ok with any kind of single player game).

Darksiders 1&2- Both are perfect time killers. You sit down for an hour of play and suddenly 12 hours has passed

Arkham City(Batman)-Open world adventure game. Great story, humor and fun characters.

Ghost recon future soldier - Amazing graphics and good story line. Although this game really shines in MP. It's very tactical and doesn't support rushing like all other fps games. It's very similar to Spec Ops: The line, but a bit more polished. Both are great games though!

Minecraft: If you haven't tried this yet, do it! It's heap loads of fun, solo or with friends alike! Build whatever you want in this Lego simulator while surviving a zombie apocalypse. It's a perfect game in every aspect. Except graphics , it has horrible graphics xD

- Batman arkham asylum and arkham city.
- Deus EX HR
- Crysis 1 & 2
- Starcraft 2

I have no idea how well the Assassin's Creed series has been ported to PC or how the controls work without a gamepad, but anyone even remotely interested in gaming should probably atleast know about Assassin's Creed.

And umm... Portal. Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.

It's such a highly subjective matter that I'm assuming you'll do atleast some research before going off and buying this stuff.

Limbo, short but good platformer, of sorts.

I was in the same boat as you my friend, WoW for 7 years with CoD in between when the "new" games came out. MMO's consume so much of your time you actually miss so many other games.
