What is up with my pvp power?

The guy has 13997 pvp power, how? He was only about 1000 more of it on his gear than I do.

He has a Malevolent weapon (just as I do!). Though the tooltip in the armory doesn't show it, it gives between 4100 and 5100 PvP power depending on upgrade level. My power (armory in sig), is nearly 51%

But yeah, Its because you don't have your pvp weapon yet. Which is where a majority of your pvp power comes from.

His human racial also allows him to equip a second DPS trinket with extra PvP power on it, thus boosting his PvP power further

If I can recall correctly, a normal amount of PvP power for a resi gemmed, none-human DK is around 45%~ so you shouldn't worry about it so much after you get T1 2/2 weapon, we have plenty of offensive power even with low PvP power values anyway.
