Yeah, I agree, Crassus was pretty awesome as a villain up until episode 7.

That was my first thought after watching the episode, that Agron isn't dead for sure. All he got was a slice. Besides, it would be a pretty good strategic move from the show makers to deceive the viewers and make one of the two dead protagonists actually alive and unite him with his lover (which obviously doesn't happen with Naevia and Crixus, although I have a feeling Naevia is going to kill someone, perhaps Tiberius).

I can't say I have something against him dying the way he did. He was a fool with a bloodthirst that eventually got to him. An honorable fool, but a fool nonetheless. I mean, you can discern from the show's name that the protagonists will die. Yes, even Spartacus will, judging by how true to history this show is trying to be (Batiatus, Verinius, Glaber and pretty much every other character from the first two seasons that you can think of did actually exist, as well as Oenomeus, Gannicus, Crixus, Agron, etc.)

While in all honesty that is something I would emotionally want (as in what would be fun), it wouldn't make much sense and it would be pretty inconsistent.

Between Rome and Capua. 6000 of them. Yeah, that will be scary. :S

Edit: I just realized, after reading a bit about the war on Wikipedia, that it would be pretty awesome if they made any further seasons about how the First Triumvirate came about. I mean, Crassus and Caesar are already there, and according to Wikipedia, Pompey returns from dealing with rebels in the Iberian peninsula exactly at the time to help Crassus finish Spartacus. Would be quite interesting if they made a show about the cooperation between the three and eventual triumph of Caesar and his rise as the first emperor (although only in practice).
from what I've read, Agron never existed, they replaced one of the real leaders ( a Roman Castus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castus_(rebel_slave)) with Agron, and made Castus in to the Pirate,

in history the Roman slave fought with them but in the TV series the writers must have thought we would never accept Spartacus having a Roman gladiator as one of his generals,

plus pause at 0.02 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb7dajG0mLE Agron is there in bandages, behind Spartacus

I always wondered how this series is being apreciated in the US, because there are so many tits and cocks displayed. I mean you guys definiteley have no problem with gore(as opposed to our controlling organs in germany) but your media freaks out abouts someones nipples being shown?

What promo do you see Agron?

Grey, that is only on network(over the air television) that anyone cares. Sex and nudity is just as prevalent on premium channels in the U.S. as it is in any other country. Culturally Americans are not tolerant of public nudity such as nipples or 'swear words' on billboards or in places that children can access without making an effort. However, America spends billions on pornography and more adult entertainment. Individuals are not as prudish as the public image we prefer to present if that makes any sense.

This level of tolerance varies from place to place in America and there are places in the US where prostitution is legal just as there are places in the US where swearing in public can get you fined. It is a big place with many very different people.

Due to history being well.. history... we all know how it's going to end. Every time there is a dramatic battle, and as it gets nearer and nearer to the last episode I've been progressively white knuckling my way through. x_X

I've been watching Rome while Spartacus is taking a two week break. So sad this is the last season : /

I really like the Spartacus show and have been watching since season 1. It was so weird when Tiberius raped Caesar.

Ahh to be alive 0AD... able to solve all your problem with rape, glorious. /jk

Fucking hell. Litterally shed a tear when crixus died. He was my favourite character in seasons 2 and 3, because i dont really like the new actor of spartacus.

That's not how the actor who plays him sees the story at all. There's an interview out there (on AfterElton) where he gives his view on the 'breakup'

I just downloaded it from piratebay. It had like 28k seeders, so it just came out.

E: Talking about the 8th episode.

While sadly Spartacus obviously won't be back, it looks like there will be a continuation (Ceaser) since the show is quite popular. At least there have been multiple tweets to this effect.

Could not of put it better myself. Made me think of Doomhammer from Warcraft with the whole spear thing.

Anyone else also catch how Spartacus comes in just in time to prevent Crixus from getting speared from behind at the beginning of the episode. Yet because he's not there at the end, Crixus has no one watching his back and he gets speared. Wonder if they did that purposely?

As to Agron, I understand his POV. He wants Nasir to live a happy life, and sees that he has that chance with Cestus. I think he also believes he owes it to his brother to die in battle to Romans and does not want to burden Nasir with that.

I was actually just thinking that earlier today, I hope they do that. Ceaser's character is so great, I'd love to see some of his campaigns.

I love how they are bringing down Crassus and showing when he doesn't get exactly what he wants despite all his meticulous planning, he gets a 'fuck you I'll just crush you beneath me' attitude. You can expect that type a personalty from someone who amassed a good chunk of the wealth of an entire empire and always gets what he wants. He was possibly one the richest, and therefore greediest men in history. Even historians mention his immense greed often.

The shows doing a good job of showing how all his plans unravel during that conflict and the situation ends up being very different then he wanted it to be. He loses his military glory to Pompey and Spartacus being elusive, which was the whole goal of his involvement and was supposed to elevate him in the senate. Now he's going to have to cut a deal with Caesar and Pompey because the senate is annoyed as fuck with him. We all know where that leads.

You can see how this weakness is going to be the end of him one day as well eg)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Carrhae

I knew Crixus was gonna die, since they somewhat follow how it went down for real 2000 years ago, but it still makes me a very sad panda when my fav character for 3 seasons get killed :'(

And so abruptly. And they'd been sissifying him hardcore with how Navea basically has had him curled around her fingers. His death should have been more glorious. Like him shanking that horny piece of shit Tiberius before he went.

And they even have a great "script" full of violence written by the real Ceasar himself. Commentarii_de_Bello_Gallico
