It doesn't really constitute as a fad because people have been like this since ever, nor is it really exclusive to the internet, its just encountered more often because of anonymity, but I just want to put it out there because it annoys the fuck out of me. Especially when it comes to subjects that are subjective to the beholder, whether its movies, music, art, or even videogames.

This also ties into the whole elitist-hipster fad such as the people who claim to be hardcore, calling people casual, when in reality they're fucking horrid and only play to build an image that they're "pro". Or the typical pretentious hipster filth who scoffs at the music you listen to because several people like it and then starts listing obscure crap they own on vinyl to show they're cultured and possess unique taste when all they listen to is the same noise shit unless pitchfork media says otherwise.
