It would be balanced around that they have more practice than the other player, still giving them the advantage in a fight. Gear advantage on top of that is just overkill.

So why even care about giving loot in pvp and have 3 extra factions thats need crucibal marks? I love that thinking for playing both pve/pvp but if you want to only focus on pvp there is no reason for this.
Some exotics give a nice buff, but other then that a legendery and a green should not be equal..

If you are skilled and bad gear, you can kill a bad with good gear easy. Thats the way it should be.
And if you are new and dont know the game, you will die as easy now as if ppl will have gear advantage.
I think you looking on a gear advantage (comparing to wow now) like it was before, new dinged to a full arena geared person. Im looking for a low gear advantage, but it should be there so you feel like you getting something from a legendery and not just... cool a purple color with more expensive upgrades that wont do a thing..

What was that thing anyway? What was the Black heart and what did it do exactly? And I really have a bit of a feeling that the chick is the Traveler because she said that she has seen things out there that we wouldn't believe.

To be honest the story really wasn't the strength of the game because it didn't make sense to be honest. Bungie could have at least tried to explain what the Traveler is and what the Darkness is other than "Good vs Evil".

The Black Heart was what controlled all The Vex, makes sense in a story point of view, but being able to redo content after killing the main thing that controlled the vex and still have to fight vex makes it more confusing than it should be. The thing to me about the traveler is that it's just a backdrop. If it's a spaceship I'd love to explore it, if it's an actual being than, well, I'd love to see it in action, guess near the end of Destiny's story there will be an evasion of The Last City and we'll see it in action, but gah. And yea I think the chick is also The Traveler, or part of it, could be just her, or there could be more. Could also be a dark twin of The Traveler. I hope the expansion adds more to the story.

    1) The best and most effective means of character progression past level 20 is sitting on a rock and shooting at a cave entrance for hours on end. I don't think I need to explain why this is bad gameplay.

    2) Big bosses at the end of strikes/raids drop no loot, giving virtually no incentive for players to do them. Example: I just did the level 24 strike playlist. It was extremely difficult, extremely time consuming, and the last boss, Phogoth, can go kiss my ass it was so damned difficult. But what did I get out of that incredible time sink and difficulty? Absolutely nothing save 2 uncommon engrams that netted nothing of use to me. The end bosses need to have a 100% chance loot of dropping AT LEAST one rare engram, and a chance at a legendary, higher than normal mobs out in the world. This gives incentives to do strikes. Because as it stands, I will *never* do that again, why? Because there is absolutely no reason to do so.

    3) The chance of getting a Legendary engram off random mobs is almost non existent, but on the off chance that it DOES happen, there's a (seemingly) 99% chance that it's a blue, green, or a legendary for another class. This is absurd. There is no reason for this whatsoever; the design philosophy behind this is idiotic at best. There is not a single more frustrating thing in the entire game than getting a legendary engram after hours of farming and it be a green hand cannon for a level 14. Please, whoever decided to make this design choice, quit. Just quit your job, please.

    4) Reputation grinding is far too tedious and slow. Strikes offer so very little reward, and to top it off, minimal reputation. After 4 hours of reputation grinding for Dead Orbit, I am still like 1/8th into rank "zero". Yeah, that needs to change, and fast. Bungie doesn't advertise this game as an MMO, and have been very adamant about not calling it an MMO from the beginning, so why is it so grindy like an MMO? This is Destiny, not World of Warcraft, I shouldn't be spending days, even weeks, farming reputations. That's not what this game was advertised as.

    5) There needs to be a forward momentum when attempting to get gear that is tangible and something you can feel and notice/experience, else gameplay gets boring and stale. Around level 23, progression seems to halt for some, completely become non existent for others, and for the lucky few, is a joyride filled with purple engrams, but those lucky few are a very small sample size. Sure, you may look at this level 22 in full purples and say "There's no problem!" but that's a vast minority. Most of us are in in the same gear we've had for days/weeks trying to find an upgrade with 5 more light on it so we can possible level up. That's bad gameplay. I have been the same level for 5 days now, with the exact same gear. Is this because I've not done anything and haven't been trying?
    -5 hours minimum per day
    -Strikes
    -Crucible
    -Bounties
-Farming that stupid cave for hours a day

Everything I can possibly do to get an upgrade, I'm doing. But my reward is nothing. Yet people who go -23 in that last pvp match got 2 legendary engrams. Worst reward system for any pvp game that I have ever played in my entire life.

Well, that's about it for my rant/review for now. I enjoy the game, I really really do, but it's so damned frustrating 90% of the time after you hit level 20. Pure RNG loot coupled with another luck based roll to even get an item you can use? Awful. I give the game a 7/10, and only so low just because it's so damned annoying so much. I'm sure I'd think differently if I was one of the few who have amazing luck with engrams, but my luck is non existent apparently.
Thats what really irks me too! Bungie was adamantly refusing the game to be called and MMO but what did they do? They implemented a shitton of MMO features into the game. I have played WoW for a long time so I´m not afraid of long grinds but a game that was advertised as non MMO with that many fucking grinds? Yeah that´s stupid.

    1) The weekly vanguard/crucible mark cap is a fucking grind because 100 per week is just way too low considering that most items cost above 120 marks

    2) The strikes giving no guaranteed loot makes them worthless other than for gaining vanguard marks because to be honest who would do a strike and spend a lot of time there to get nothing? Or maybe a worthless blue item?

    3) Getting green/blue items out of legendary engrams is fucking unacceptable !! Who thought of that stupid system? A legendary engram (if you are lucky enough for one to drop) should definitely spawn something useful (like coins or ascendant stuff) instead of blue shit. If a legendary engram doesn't give you a legendary than it should at least give you materials or something

    4) The story should definitely be more fleshed out because what did we learn from playing the missions? There is a Traveler (not explained what the fuck that thing is) and there is a Darkness (also not explained). We visit a few worlds to kill a bunch of baddies (not explained why we are fighting them other for the Darkness) and suddenly we do the final mission (also not explained what the fuck that thing is at the end). Every single HALO game had 100% more story than Destiny to be honest.

    5) Mission design is beyond bad to be honest. 90% of all missions are: We come in fight a few guys then our Ghost wants to analyze something and he triggers a bunch of waves and then a small boss shows up ... mission done. What exactly is revolutionary at that stuff? These missions are so repetitive and boring that having to do them every day for the heroic story is a pain in the arse.

    6) The worlds feel empty to be honest. How many times has a public event occurred and I was alone in the entire zone on a low level character? Sure if you play a level 5 titan and a world event shows up you stand no chance. The worlds feel pretty empty (especially the moon - there is hardly anyone there at all). The most people I have seen in a single zone was 6 at the loot cave.

    7) Zone chat is really missing. Unless you have a chat going with a friend you are basically on you own without any interaction to other players. Would be really funny to have a zone wide voice chat that you can use. I always enjoyed the people in Black ops 2 that shouted funny stuff into the mics. Made me laugh multiple times.

    /Rant over

I have to say I like moon farming spot a bit more than the loot cave. Sure it's not as brain dead as shooting into a hole for hours on end but it is more fun. After a 130 deaths, 1500 kills, around 20 seconds per life, I had 9 rare engram and a green of other greens I was taking apart while I waited for the mobs to kill me.

Got my first Legendary Engram from leveling up the cryptard and I got a legendary item from it. If only I actually played the classes it required, I could say something nice for once about the loot system and my luck.

Not entirely, the black heart was very important to the Vex, but the game itself even says the Vex aren't defeated just because the black heart's destroyed.

So the queens wrath event is live now and to be honest it´s disappointing. The normal bounty guy has a bunch of new bounties and there is a new vendor in the iron banner area who sells BLUE weapons and a legendary class item. Who needs blue items?

Ya just looked myself and this event is highly disappointing.

I am not impressed with how they are handling the events so far. Everything at the vendor is useless and getting the rep is pointless. Watch they will pull some stunt where the rep is needed later or in the DLC.....FFS.

You know they could have finally used the Reef because that place is completely useless. Why did they put in blue weapons to buy? Who at this point of time grinds rep to buy blue weapons?

Basically this event has a temporary faction that´s totally useless because all you can buy is blue stuff and a class item ... and more bounties (yay they are so cool )

Yep looked at them earlier, logged right back off. That gear was terrible :\. You get the same piece of gear pretty much for doing like 1 maybe 2 strikes.

But that event causes people to play more because there are more of these "collect 200 stuff" "kill xy in mission xy" bounties that are a timesink. What you are supposed to do with the reputation is beyond me because there is zero incentive to do the bounties because all they do is give you reputation for a faction that has nothing of use to sell.

Who at Bungie thought that its a good idea to bring a new vendor that sells shitty blue items? Seriously I´m baffled right now.

Yay more story missions that you have to repeat 1000 times. The missions are so good that I enjoy it ... not.

Especially the non skippable cutscenes are a pain in the arse. Why can´t we just skip cutscenes like in other games? If Bungie´s focus is on story missions then why is there no skip option?

Looks like there is a legendary set from Queens story missions, don't know how high the drop rate is though.

And what game like this is not a "repeat 1000 times" and like many other pointed out, kill x amount of mobs, gather x amount of this etc.
Lets see, mission in borderlands is this way.
Lets see, mission in Halo? They are just go from point A to point B, and kill all in the way. Or defend 1 point (atleast what I have played)
All game is like this, either you go from A to B and kill stuff between, or you guard something. There is some puzzel mission in some game, but thats not many

Or people can give me some good example on better mission that is not like this :P

With FPS specifically - Games like Halo, or call of duty, have very story driven single player campaigns with visually pleasing set pieces and well thought out maps and environments. The levels are split up, and you never spend more than a single mission in the same environment. The monotony is broken up well and the games have a good pace.

With the single player campaign of destiny, you're often re-visiting the exact same buildings for multiple missions even from the get go on old russia. Then, you allow ghost to analyze something - He then says "DARKNESS SOMETHING SOMETHING DARKNESS TRAVELER DARKNESS" and the mission ends and the story is non-existent.
