Most overrated/over-hyped games of all time?

im going to say it, just about every game on the SNES/N64 ever made. online at least people seem to froth at the mouth at the mention of a "classic game", when really just because its old it doesn't mean its good.

Reading along and seeing runescape pop up? I thought this was about [b]over[b]rated games. You know, the ones where everyone and their mom rants about how great it is and has no fault >.> I got a game to name, but considering the reason for this sites existence I'd rather not fan flames.

plenty of people have said WoW already if thats what you're hinting at. saying a game was overrated doesn't mean its a bad game though.

Opinions are opinions, but mind giving some reasoning behind this? I'm genuinely curious about FFX, mostly because it's my favorite game of all time.

I can see it. Poor voice acting, bad dialogue, lame story and no world map (linear).

Toss up in my book between FF VII(over-rated) and D3(over-hyped). I enjoy both just get thrown up for being better than they are and/or not being as good as they thought it was going to be.

That's not the problem. The problem is the 9001 posters who say:

"lawl obviously <insert clearly overhyped game that no one has a positive opinion of here, i.e. SW:TOR>, most overrated game EVAR!!111!!!"

Overhyped and overrated aren't synonyms.
