Drop the ram to low profile ones, and (assuming mainly a gaming build) 8 GB will be enough. You could get a cheaper case, and with the money saved from the case and ram you could get a ssd.

But other than that, it looks good to me.

Does it have to be a full tower? You could save some money on the heatsink by getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103099
If all you're going to be doing is gaming then 16g is overkill on ram. I'd recommend getting 2x4g and save around $50 bucks there
Corsair makes good PSU's but the CX series aren't that great. Get either a Seasonic, XFX, or a different model Corsair.
As for SSD's Crucial M4, OCZ Vertex 4, or Samsung 840 Pro are among the top of the line from what I've read. Feel free to correct me on this.
If you do get a SSD drop the HDD down to a WD blue and save a little cash there as well.
The rest of the build looks pretty good though.

My personal take: ASUS > Gigabyte > everyone else including MSI. MSI is bottom of the barrel in my book, Gigabyte for extras and configuration, ASUS MoBo for stability and speed.

You can save even more money go AMD instead of Intel.. AMD is great, Intel is too expensive.. I build computers as part of my hobby.. so I do have experience with this.

I am NOT an Intel fan... I believe AMD does it better and cheaper, nVidia vs AMD Radeon is a toss up, for best performance go nVidia but if you get an AMD MoBo with AMD chipset.. I would go Radeon personally... MAYBE you can get 2 more FPS with nVidia.. MAYBE

All of this, to me, screams 'hobbyist' and not 'professional'.
A lot of misinformation and poor bias

MSI is definitely not the bottom of the barrel. People seem to dislike MSI because they have cheaper options as well. And some people are silly enough to assume "cheaper" is synonymous with "Bad"
Intel has better performance per dollar. AMD is great for cheaper solutions
ATI GPUs right now has better performance per dollar, except for the GeForce 660. The 7970 is a good choice if you can afford it.

The original OP Setup will handily beat any AMD setup. Period. There is no AMD CPU that can compare currently.

    You cannot.

If you want better performance/dollar on the low end, AMD is nice.
If you want better performance/dollar on the med/high end, or just want better performance, Intel is the thing do.

get an SSD of your system will be throttled hard by the speed of the HDD. I suggest a 250gig SSD SSD is for your OS and the main games you will be using

Put games and OS on the SSD, programs too. Delete the hibernate file, remove the page file, put music, movies, and videos on the Harddrive.

I would get an Asus or ASRock Mobo for starts MSI sucks donkey balls. If you get an ASUS mobo they always come with a sata 3.0 cable. You will probably need 1 SATA 3.0 Cable to connect your HDD as it is OEM and just comes in a antistatic bag, you may need another sata cable for the optical drive if it is OEM if not should have one I would think. You should get some thermal paste with the aftermarket Heatsink. Everything else looks fine to me.

The MSI boards this generation is perfectly good and on par with the rest. MSI Z77A-G45, comes with 2 SATA cables in the box which is enough for the SSD/HDD.
