I'm not sure your memory of what happened is terribly accurate. Plus Congress isn't a bunch of children, at least in theory. They and they alone are responsible for the laws they've written.

Even though the OP is obviously a troll i will respond to say that the CONGRESS made the sequester in order to FORCE THEMSELVES to DO THEIR JOBS because the consequences of not doing their jobs would end in the SEQUESTER which is BAD. Instead of doing their jobs though they are trying to make the sequester less bad so they can just let it fucking happen instead of working together. I hate them all. And the OP is a prime example of how screwed up one particular party is when trying to make compromises... (not to name names, but i bet you can guess which one that is.)
