Yet another example of OVERPRICING on ebay

Well i finally got out bed because i was sick for day but i fell more better so today i when to ebay to see any that will catch my eyes and i found this

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samurai-Show...item231c26d021

so i say okay 7.99 for FF3 and SS2 because they are the best fighting games that ever came out from japan next to street fighter but as i look at the description i saw a price label for $1.96 and is was cross out so now this ass#### was going make a few dollar on games but in all fairness he should sell it for $1.96 and i think of e-mail him to see if he would sell it but then he could be just a d###

    what you think ?

1.95 when it was sold in stores probably. Im not sure on the rarity of the game, but there is a chance it could appreciate in time. Question is, can you find this elsewhere for the $2 or are all other sources also ay $8

I think people will pay what they feel an item is worth. If you want it, and can find it cheaper someplace else, dont buy it.

I think this is an incredibly useless thread. Who cares if he is selling it for more money than he bought it for. Welcome to the real world.

How dare he try to make five dollars for his time and effort putting up something on ebay and then spending more time mailing them out.

I'm not seeing the problem here. The price is worth it to you or it isn't so either buy it or don't. If the seller feels that $7.99 is what he should get for it then so be it.

8$ instead of 2$ for a very old and rare product isnt something OVERPRICED I think.

I think 8$ is a very good price, and 2$ is way too cheap for that.

Supply and demand...? He bought it when there was a large supply so the price was low... now it's harder to find so he can raise the price... simple economics.

You were ok with purchasing it for $7.99 until you saw the original price tag so it seems that was a fair price the seller was asking. An item's worth is determined by the price a buyer is willing to pay.

I'm not sure if you are just trying to provoke a meaningless debate or if you really are concerned about this. But a fluid market is a fluid market. If you think it's overpriced, then don't buy it, period. Not complicated.

Do you also get annoyed at antique dealers? The principle on how they make money on their investments is exactly the same. It's an accepted way to make a gain on a monetary investment that has been done for hundreds of years, and the item in question is very much a luxury item, and not an essential one to living, so there is nothing morally wrong with inflating the price beyond the original.

no my point is that if a games a few years old and out of production and bought for $1.96 to $7.99 is hypocritical and that there is place in PA where they have games that are 5 to 10 yrs old and sell for $2 to $3 each but they gave me discount if i bought more that 2 games

and the point is just sell for $1.96 but in this world there are c### and ass#### want to make a quick buck

It sounds more like you are just personally upset that the price range is outside what you are comfortable paying. That doesn't make the guy selling it a dick. If people are willing to pay the price for it then he would be a fool to lower that price.

It's not dishonest to sell it for more than the original price if the supply goes down and the demand goes up. He isn't selling that to please you, he's selling it to make money.

Why are you so concerned with how other people make money? Are the games yours? Does ebay belong to just you? No, so stop worrying about what other people are doing that has absolutely nothing to do with you. If you dont want to buy the games, you dont have to. Go to your super game store and buy them cheaper.

On a side note, how do you think retail works? You realize EVERYTHING you have ever bought at a store was bought by the store at a lower price. Thats how the world works.
I grew up in the era where you had to go to channel 3 to play video games.

They're allowed to charge what they like, it's the law of supply and demand, they'll charge as much as they can as long as it's what people's willing to pay. You live in a capitalist society, if you don't like people making profit and doing business then you're free to go live in North Korea.

Are we really complaining about two games for $8?

I could not agree more. If you don't like the price, DON'T BUY IT - what is the big problem ?

Doesn't mean he's not having to pay shipping himself.
That $7.99 price covers postage and the game I bet.
