Need modular power supply with $100 limit

    I'm looking to get a new power supply. I hate all the extra cables in my case Im not using. Specs I would prefer;

    650-700w range
    modular or full, doesn't matter
Be able to handle a gtx670, maybe 2?
cables long enough to hide in a NZXT Phantom Full tower

    No more than $100.

    So far, I like

The amps seem a bit low though for a 670.. Especially if I want to ever get a 2nd 670. Any tips?

For SLI I'd recommend either the NZXT Hale82 650w or XFX 650W XXX Edition linked above by n0cturnal, definitely enough power and also comes with enough connectors for two cards. For single GPU any of them will do.

Seriously, Raidmax is one of the worst PSU's, and unfortunately they come bundled with equally terrible Raidmax cases, which often LOOK cool, but are made from wet paper and potato chips.

A dual 670 system will not break 500w. While 550 might be too close for my comfort (I like a 10% @ 100% load window, which is excessive but safe), a 600w will do the job easy.

Ogod, the black/blue mixed with beige... I wouldn't even agree on it looking cool, haha. And I like flashy.

What case and PSU do you currently have? If you already have decent PSU you could always opt for a good case on that budget and do a some nice cable management. It's an option with many benefits. Some lovely cases to be found at 100$. We're assuming your plentiful cables have plentiful length or else there is no point considering the case option, especially if you have a poor PSU.

I was using an azza hurrican, but a lot of things went wrong with it and I found it hard to do any cable management in it. Plus, the cats lay on the top and knock in fur, littler and other fun stuff clumped to their feet.

My power supply would be more than enough for it, but I really dont like all the cables. Currently have a Corsair 650w v2

anyway, thanks for the responses, I really like the XFX 650w. Found it on newegg and its got 20% off right now

You have a Corsair TX V2 and you want a new modular power supply?! Fair enough. I'd definitely try and sell that for a decent price to offset the cost of buying a new modular PSU. Or I would definitely consider a new case with better cable management but having said that the Azza Hurricane looked like a solid buy back in the day.

Still it seems like a waste of money. Wouldn't you like to put that $100 towards an SSD?

    Bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207023

    they sent http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207015

Won't let me get a refund because I bought it on sale, and they won't send me the correct item as they don't do the shipping.

That sounds a bit shady, they sent you the wrong item and the refuse to fix it?

Don't they have to send you the correct item?

meant replacement not refund, but yeah, even so, the other is no longer on sale so I'd have to rebuy it at the $125 instead of getting the 20% off deal that was up that day. I'd also have to send it back and rebuy a new one, and really rather not since I order rush shipping so I could get it for 5.2 for wow
