Women I'd say somewhere between 25-40.
For guys I'd say somewhere between 30-60.

There was an interesting study about this that concluded that we think women look best in their early twenties, but when actually confronted with examples women look their best at 33.

In very general terms (and in my opinion):
Women: 18-40
Men: 24-50
I've seen very attractive women who are 50+ though, and I've seen men look good up to as old as 65ish.
Some further opinions of mine: Women attain perfection at around 22-25 most of the time, and then more or less start to decline. Men start to look good at 20ish and slowly ascend to their peak at about 30-35ish where they also start declining.

When you get older, you see that quite different......
17 is still a child.. Anything below 21 needs to lose the baby face first.. (Generally speaking)
Females: 25 - 44
Males: 26 - 60
Yet, that's only a mainstream evaluation.. It varies individually
Evidence how far off many in here are.... People Magazine Award Sexiest Man/Woman Alive....
In the recent 5 years alone.. Men:
2008: Hugh Jackman - Born 1968
2009: Johnny Depp - Born 1963
2010: Ryan Reynolds - Born 1976
2011: Bradley Cooper - Born 1975
2012: Channing Tatum - Born 1980
Generally most grown up men of 30+ years would refer to Sean Connery and George Clooney as the symbols of male attractiveness. I don't know a single guy would wouldn't love to have either ones charisma....

It is hard to be so general, as always things are never black and white, but from personal experience:
Women: 17 - 25
Men: 25 - 40
Of course, I still find women attractive beyond 25, I just think some of the most beautiful women I've ever met have been in that age range. As for Men, I've always thought men generally look nicer as we age a bit more. Bit more rugged and supportive, then just young, loud and horny.
