Nobody is a fan of this. I left America out for a few different reasons. The main one being American's opinion. They have a much different outlook on the rest of the world and can be a lot more outspoken about it.

I've found the other countries I mentioned are more similar to Australia and have a much more laid back approach to the world. They are more willing to see it. (IMO Americans seems to be more in favour of travelling around America then they are rest of the world)

Don't get me wrong. I adore America. I think people give it a pretty bad wrap at times. Like all cultures they have the good and the bad. I still feel the good in America well outweighs the bad.

As an Australian; New Zealand, UK and Canada would be closest. All Commonwealth countries, similar healthcare, social security and education systems which are indicative of underlying shared philosophical beliefs, and in the case of NZ and the UK in particular a shared and similar common law legal system and close sporting ties.

I see American culture as pretty... different to ours personally.

Culturally I find that Germans are probably closer to Danes than Swedes and Norwegians... :P

I think Canada would be the most similar nation to the United States.

I'm glad that my country dont even fall in the same category as America. My country is similar to Denmark and Sweden, even though most of the rules etc is a lot different. Also, Sweden not being Sweden soon. Any one have numbers for how many % immigrants there is in Sweden?

The website is very good and accurate. From my experience, my country is indeed quite feminine and quite orthodox when it comes to values.

We had 2 years maternity leave up until recently...

I would disagree, for obvious reasons. Canada are neutral and good, while America runs on war.

When was the last time you've been to Canada or America? When's the last time you've met one of us or a Canadian?

I think I know our neighbors more than you do.

And I think you see your country from another perspective than the rest of the world does. Also, I'm pretty sure canadians doesnt like the thought of being compared to America ; )

Please don't assume that most American's are warmongers. The truth is the majority of us hate all these foreign wars that our government manages to get us involved in. Why can't we just mind our own business like Costa Rica?

From the Netherlands which is most close to Norway. More so even then the other nordic countries are to Norway apparently.

Though this is a blueprint of culture that shows a cultures morals and values. Obivously traditions and rites are probably not shared so much as with other nordic countries because we aren't some barbaric vikings down south here .

We are also pretty similar to the US except for the masculine/feminine index. Flaunting succes here is seen as pretty bad. Sort of Dutch jantelagen (or whats it called?). Something most of northern Europe shares. We don't measure happiness on succes, lets put it like that.

I don't care how the rest of the world sees my country. I'm just saying that you're wrong. If Canadians don't like us that's fine. They have to deal with the fact that were brothers, even if they think we're the retarded one.

I don't think we can be too retarded when they can't manage to keep their doctors in their country, because of socialized healthcare. Tons, and tons of Canadian doctors come to America for far better pay.

It doesn't even matter if we are or aren't. It's all about how we're perceived. I just don't care how were perceived anymore. It would be nice if it was positive, but I choose not to waste my time trying to convince people anymore.

I am from the US and honestly the only other country that I been to is Canada. I would say that we are very similar in some ways but so different in so many other ways. We pretty much speak the same language which is English (Except in Montreal or Quebec), the stores are pretty much the same and the food is very similar as well.
