I found the crying kitten. It's a tiny little ball of fluff, can't be more than 2 or 3 months old. Tail is completely gone, no clue where that went.

It won't let me near it though. Runs to the water runoff drain if I step outside my door and vanishes into one of the pipes.

It just occurred to me that I don't think it'll be able to get out of that drain it jumped in.

It went straight to it like its been there before, but the thing was so tiny, I just don't think it could jump back out.

Get a crane and tie a basket with something nummy to it!

That's not how this drain works. The only access is a 4 inch vertical opening. Inside, there are two 10 inch pipes leading in either direction, and the hole itself is about 12 inches deep. The kitten vanished into those pipes. I'm sure they lead to other drains, which is how it's getting around even though its skittish
