We can see that French, in the past, failed to invade England, just by looking at English food.

nah, we got the invasions and stand up fight portions down pat, its getting the country to like us afterwards that we seem to be struggling with, and with soviet union as a worse alternative to occupation, that's a tall order

It took us 20 days to completely defeat the Republican Guard and capture the capital. US and UK forces reported a combined 172 casualties.

I'd say it was a pretty great invasion.

The French like to claim it as their own victory though, the truth is that despite over a thousand years of warfare and rivalry, the French could never manage to invade our mainland.

    That's not true.

There are so many varieties anyway, you just didn't taste the good ones !

Also, our wine is like brit pop, it's amazing. (And our pop music is as bad as english wine )

What does it prove anyway? Often the majority settles for the tasteless... While I am myself a great fan of English cheeses, this argument is not really acceptable as such.

The Normans (in French: Normands; in Latin Nortmanni; in German: Normannen) were the people[1] who gave their name to Normandy, a region in northern France. They were descended from North Germanic Norse Viking conquerors of the territory and the native population of Germanic Frankish[2] and Gallo-Roman stock.[3] Their identity emerged initially in the first half of the 10th century, and gradually evolved over succeeding centuries.

They were about as French as Alexander the Great was Greek.
