Wanting to switch to fire -- Enough crit?

So I've been playing frost since the fire nerfs way back when, and have been waiting until I could go back to fire. Now that they've brought all the specs together, and we have a lot more crit to play with, I was wondering if I have the gear to play fire. I consider myself a well-read mage, though I want to hear what you all think is a good amount of crit to play with.

I'd like some real gameplay, too, not something you've read off of Simcraft, or whatever. I want to hear you're success with whatever crit you had at the time.

I used askmrrobot to optimize for fire, and got 25% crit chance, which personally I don't believe to be better.

Too little geared I think, at least 510 is needed for fire spec to be bearable.

I can honestly say I'm at 513 itlv, I'm at 25.25% crit unbuffed, and I still feel like it need to be just a little bit higher. Though I don't have t15 2pc, it still feels like a lot of my potential is wasted. But, I will link you logs that I ranked somehow on lol, and you can do with it what you will.

Again this is me with my current gear in this weeks raids, from your armory, you may want to get upgrades for fire, but stick with frost until you have the crit. The other mages were frost mages 508/507 item level.

I played around with it at 34% self buffed, and I wasn't pleased. I tried council with it, and it had its moments, but when we eventually ended up downing it, I went frost for the loa control. Frost offers me more consistency to be honest, and better tools for my raid team. At least, in a 10 man, I think we still offer some value besides our dps.

I personally would wait, but certainly now is the time to start collecting pieces itemized in favor of fire. That's a big difference people will notice too between those who just swap any old gear over to fire and those who are particular with which pieces they use. It will help you reach a desirable crit rating at a much lower ilvl.
